LG G Watch vs Samsung Gear Live Comparison

When Google announced the Android Wear OS for smart watches back in March 2014, there was no surprise that LG was one of the early adopters and partners to come up with a smartwatch. And the LG G Watch was well expected, but there was a surprise that Samsung too would be jumping into this. After using their Tizen OS in the Gear series of smartwatches. At the Google I/O 2014, Google announced that the two smartwatches, LG G Watch and Samsung Gear Live are available for pre-ordering. Read below for the comparison of LG G Watch and Samsung Gear Live.

LG G Watch vs Samsung Gear Live Comparison

Not much different in the screen size, the Samsung Gear Live scores higher because of the better resolution and the Super AMOLED display. Samsung hasn’t told about the chipset being used in the Gear Live, but the one in the G Watch is Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 clocking at 1.2 GHz. Both the smart watches are going to have 512MB RAM and 4GB internal storage.

The LG G Watch has a better battery, at least by capacity – 400 mAh compared to 300 mAh in Gear Live. For the extras, Samsung’s Gear Live has a heart rate sensor, which was used in the Gear 2 as well, while there is no heart rate sensor in the G Watch, if you cared about it.

If you had to choose a smartwatch right now, it is quite hard to decide upon one because there are some unique advantages in both against each other, while if you are happy to wait. There is a tough competitor coming soon – the Moto 360 smartwatch, which has a round watch face, although the internal specs might not be that different. But while the pricing of LG G Watch & Gear Live is $229 and $199 respectively, the Moto 360 is expected to cost around $250.
