Reliance Jio to offer 70000 4G Connections with Shah Rukh Khan as Brand Ambassador

Mukesh Ambani is going to fulfill India’s dream of having a nation-wide 4G Network with its Reliance Jio brand. We had been hearing about the launch of Jio telecom services when company first bought license in the spectrum auction more than a year back. But now it looks like it may finally be commencing its services. Although, the first set of users would be company’s employees.
According to the report by Economic Times, the Reliance Jio Infocomm would be officially starting its 4G connections on the eve of December 27, as one day later is the 83rd birth anniversary of RIL founder, Dhirubhai Ambani. It is expected the Shah Rukh Khan would be joining the event as the Brand Ambassador of the Reliance Jio. The Bollywood celebrity, who had been previously involved with Airtel Network is continuing its journey being an icon for another telecom giant.
In name of testing the possible glitches, at least 70,000 more connections would be offered to the company’s employee, which would bring the number up to 100,000 Jio connections. Do make a note that, December 27 is not the commercial offering of Jio services, but a mere test run. The new telecom firm is said to rope in around 100 million consumers during its first year of service, i.e. 2016-2017. It is more likely that we would hear the public launch sometime in the middle of April-May.
The Jio services that company’s employees would be able to use include Jio Chat, Jio Play, Jio Money and Jio-on-Demand services. Company personnel opting in for services would be able to chat securely through JioChat and pay using Jio Money. While chatting services are like any regular service where they would be able to exchange texts, instant videos, files and emojis, the JioMoney would work as a wallet service where employees can pay at the Jio HQ in Reliance Corporate Park (RCP) in Mumbai. There are shops and restaurants at RCP, which would be honoring the JioMoney service. Moreover, they could also enjoy the fast internet speeds up to 50-60 Mbps.
The firm is going to tie up with around one million merchants that would be accepting JioMoney as payment. This move would be a coinciding plan of the company where Mukesh Ambani desires to set up payments bank in partnership with State Bank of India. Adding more meaning to Digital Life in India. In other news, the Reliance Retail, a part of RIL has launched the 4G handsets under LYF brand, which are designed to be working with Reliance Jio as the Jio apps would come preinstalled on them.
