Jio Launches 2 JioFi Mobile Wi-Fi Hotspot Devices at Rs 1999, Prepaid Data & Voice Call Plans

Reliance Jio is now providing a free Jio SIM with every LYF smartphone purchase, while earlier the company has given a Jio SIM for all the Reliance employees even before the public launch. As of now, there are no details regarding the commercial launch of Jio services, but recently the company removed the requirement of invites from Reliance employee to purchase LYF device and Jio SIM. Jio will be also launching two MiFi devices (a.k.a Mobile Wi-Fi Hotspots) called JioFi.
Both the devices come with an MRP of Rs. 4,899 but will be retailing at just Rs. 1,999. These are very portable and can be carried anywhere without much hassle. With the built-in battery, the JioFi devices will last upto 5 hours on a single charge. The JioFi devices accept the Jio Prepay SIM. Out of the both, only one MiFi device supports ten wireless connections, and the other is limited to just five wireless connections apart from the one USB connection on both the devices.

Apart from using as a Wi-Fi hotspot, the JioFi also offers to make HD voice and video calls with the help of JioJoin app. By installing the app, the users can virtually make calls using the VoWiFi (Voice over Wi-Fi) technology. Both the JioFi devices will be available only in Black color. Jio will also offer special postpaid and prepaid plans, but we only have information regarding the prepaid plans. The users can choose between both data only and data+call combo plans. Do make a note that these MiFi devices are currently available only to the JIO Employees for testing & would be later offered to the users probably under the same pricing.
The JioFi prepaid data plan includes 75GB of 4G high-speed data which is valid for 90 days, while the HD voice combo plan additionally comes with 4500 minutes of voice calls and 9000 SMS for 90 days (only upto 100 SMS/day). Both the plans include free Jio services like Jio Mag, Jio Beats, Jio Play, Jio-on-Demand, Jio Express News, and Jio Drive (101GB of cloud storage) for 90 days. We guess this plans to be applied only once per SIM, and the company will come up with normal recharge plans by the time of commercial launch.
Earlier leaked information suggests Jio to offer two postpaid plans at Rs. 1,000 and Rs. 2,000. The Rs. 1,000 plan comes with 10GB of 4G data and unlimited local calls, while the Rs. 2,000 plan include 20GB 4G data with unlimited local and STD voice calls. One of the earlier mentioned JioFi devices is also offered for free along with the Rs. 2,000 plan. Additionally, a total of seven apps from Jio digital services will be offered for free. Stay tuned for more updates!
