Meizu Launches M6 Note as its First Snapdragon Powered Smartphone

As announced earlier, Meizu has officially unveiled its latest budget smartphone dubbed Meizu M6 Note today in China. Apart from the M6 Note smartphone, the company also unveiled a new Bluetooth headset called EP52 as the successor to earlier launched EP51. The Meizu EP52 Bluetooth headset costs 299 Yuan and there is also 30 Yuan discount when purchased with the M6 Note smartphone. Talking about the Meizu M6 Note, it comes with a premium looking metal built unibody design and 2.5D curved glass laid on the front.

It sports a 5.5-inch display and offers Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution. Under the hood is the 64-bit Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor clocked at 2.0GHz and comes coupled with Adreno 506 GPU. However, there is no announcement regarding the Helio P25 powered variant as seen in the leaks. It comes in 3GB and 4GB RAM variants with 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB storage options. There is also a MicroSD card slot for further expansion of storage up to 128GB. The physical home button placed beneath the display also comes with an integrated fingerprint sensor that also supports payments authorizing via AliPay and WeChat.

In the camera department, the Meizu M6 Note comes with dual camera setup featuring 13MP and 5MP sensors. The comes with dual PD, dual-core auto focus, f/1.9 aperture, 1.4μm large pixel size, 6P lens, and quad LED flash. Meizu also confirmed to offer either Sony IMX362 or Samsung S5K2L7 sensor with the M6 Note. While the Sony IMX362 sensor is also used in HTC U11, Vivo Xplay6, Asus Zenfone 3 Zoom, and Moto G5 Plus, the Samsung S5K2L7 sensor can be found on the Moto Z2 Play, Gionee M2017, and Meitu M8 smartphones.

For selfies, there is a 16MP camera placed on the front with f/2.0 aperture, 5P lens, and ArcSoft beauty algorithm. The M6 Note runs on the latest Android 7.1.2 Nougat based Flyme 6 OS out of the box and includes in-house OneMind AI technology. It is backed by a 4,000mAh non-removable battery that also supports mCharge fast charging technology using the 18W power adapter. The device measures 154.6 x 75.2 x 8.35 mm and weighs 173 grams. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2 LE, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and MicroUSB 2.0 port.

The power button and volume rocker are placed on the right edge and the dual SIM card slot is on the left edge. The Meizu M6 Note will be on sale starting September 1st via official online store and from September 2nd through retail stores and other major online stores. Coming to the pricing, the 3GB RAM variant with 16GB and 32GB of internal storage are priced at 1099 Yuan and 1299 Yuan respectively. The high-end variant with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage costs 1699 Yuan. It will be available in Black, Silver, Blue and Gold color options.
