Officially Launched
Xiaomi Mi Note 3 Smartphone Now Comes with 4GB RAM Priced at 1999 Yuan
Along with the bezel-less Mi MIX 2 smartphone, Xiaomi also launched the Mi Note 3 as the successor to last year’s Mi Note 2. Till last year, the company launched the flagship smartphones under the Mi Note series with the top-notch specifications. Xiaomi also debuted the Mi MIX smartphone along with the Mi Note 2 and both the devices are powered by the same Snapdragon 821 SoC. The Mi MIX was considered as a concept device and the sale units are very limited. Now, the second-gen Mi MIX will go on sale alongside the Mi Note 3 in China. The Mi MIX 2 will be the company’s latest flagship smartphone and the Mi Note 3 is more like a high-end device for selfie-centric consumers.
Xiaomi Mi Note 3 with Snapdragon 660 SoC & 16MP Selfie Camera Launched in China
(September 11th, 2017)
The Mi Note 3 features a metal frame with 3D curved glass on the front and rear. It runs on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat based MIUI 9 out of the box. It sports a 5.5-inch IPS display with Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution and Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Under the hood is the 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 octa-core processor that uses the custom Kryo 260 cores clocked up to 2.2GHz. It comes coupled with Adreno 512 GPU and offers Bluetooth 5.0 technology. The Mi Note 3 will be available in two different variants – 6GB + 64GB & 6GB + 128GB. There is no MicroSD card slot on this device to further expand the storage.
Talking about the cameras, there is a 12MP + 12MP dual camera setup on the rear. This is the same setup that was earlier seen on the Mi 6, Mi 5X, and Mi A1 smartphones. It also comes with 4-axis OIS and offers 2X optical zoom for the lossless close-up photos. However, the major upgrade can be found on the front of the device. The 5MP selfie camera from the past Mi flagship devices is now upgraded to a whopping 16MP sensor. The recently launched Redmi Note 5A also came with a 16MP front-facing camera. It supports dual SIM dual standby and offers 4G LTE connectivity on anyone SIM. It is backed by a 3,500mAh non-removable battery that also supports Quick Charge 3.0 using the USB Type-C port.
It even includes IR Blaster for controlling home electronics like AC and TV. The Mi Note 3 measures 152.6 x 73.95 x 7.6 mm and weighs 163 grams. Just like the Mi 6, the Mi Note 3 also lacks the 3.5mm audio jack and users have to use the UBS Type-C port for charging and also for connecting headsets. The Black color variant of the Mi Note 3 with 64GB and 128GB of internal storage is priced at 2499 Yuan (approx $383 / Rs. 24,500) and 2899 Yuan (approx $445 / Rs. 28,500) respectively. There is also a Blue color variant with 128GB of storage that costs 2999 Yuan (approx $460 / Rs. 29,500).

Until the Mi Note 2, the company launched the flagship devices for the second part of the year under the Mi Note series. Today, the company came up with an affordable variant of the Mi Note 3 with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. This new variant is priced at 1999 Yuan (approx $300 / Rs. 19,600) and will go on sale starting November 23rd. It comes only in Black and Blue color options. The availability of the Mi Note 3 is only restricted to the Chinese market, but there are several Chinese resellers selling the device with free shipping.
