Chipset maker Qualcomm has unveiled its new Snapdragon 855+ SoC not long ago. It is a slightly better and improved version of the current flagship Snapdragon 855 processor, which translates to clock speed improvements for up to 2.96GHz and significant GPU performance increase by a mere 15% as well. After the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ launch, several reports have started emerging online. Out of which, the supposedly Asus ROG Phone 2 is said to be coming with the new powerful chipset made by Qualcomm. And, Realme has also welcomed the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ entrant on its Weibo account.
What this means is that it Realme could possibly be embracing the new chipset incidentally or it could be a start to speculations of the next device from Realme that will likely power the new Snapdragon 855+ SoC. The company hinting this on Weibo suggests that the global launch of the SD 855+ powered device would be held in China primarily like the Realme X and would eventually come to India as well (Realme has launched the Realme X in the country). Realme has entered into the Chinese markets with the launch of Realme X last month.
Late last month, Realme’s CEO Madhav Seth had hinted us a new Realme phone, which is said to be featuring a 64MP primary rear camera. He had shared the photo sample of the device they are working on it right now. He had also hinted that the upcoming Realme phone has the largest sensor, which is said to be the ISOCELL GW1 1/1.72″ sensor that is capable of taking clear low light shots as well. Madhav has also mentioned in the sample photo Tweet, which he shared that the device they are working on would be a new premium killer.
This could possibly mean that the 64MP AI-powered Quad Camera phone that Realme is working on right now might actually be powered by the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ SoC – as it is claimed to be a premium killer. Right now, it is still speculative to say that the 64MP phone would be coming with the new flagship processor as the company hadn’t revealed any information about it instead had hinted/welcomed the new Snapdragon 855+ SoC or there could be another possibility of the company working on another smartphone with 855+ SoC altogether.
As stated, these are still speculations; however, presumably, we can expect the same 64MP phone would feature the new powerful chipset since it already has a powerful camera. And, also the powerful chipset comes with 5G cpabilieties too, henceforth we could expect the next flagship phone from Realme could be a 5G capable phone.
