Realme X With 48MP Dual Rear Cameras, 16MP Elevating camera & In-display Fingerprint Sensor Launched in India

Realme had a successful journey ever since the launch of the Realme 1 smartphone since last year. The company had come up with its ‘C’ series and U series later on in the country. The company had recently launched its new X series to foray into the Chinese markets early this May by launching the mid-range Realme X smartphone. The company has now brought its X series to India and had launched the new Realme X smartphone alongside the Realme 3i smartphone in the country.

This new mid-range Realme X is a premium looking device when it comes to build quality and the gradient finish on the rear of the device. Up front, the Realme X comes with a 6.53-inch Full HD+ display that achieves a screen-to-body-ration of 91.2%. With an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 the display has a 394ppi, and the display is further protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 5. On the whole, the display comes with a significantly narrow bezel and also doesn’t come with a notch or whatsoever — thanks to the elevating front camera. The display also features a light sensing in-screen fingerprint scanner for authentication as well.

The company claims the elevating front camera is said to be having prolonged life with unto 2,00,000 slide cycles, meaning the elevating camera stays intact even after taking 50 selfies a day in 10 years, suggests the company. The in-display fingerprint scanner is further paired with AI tech for fingerprint image recognition algorithms for better fingerprints recognition accuracy.

Under the hood, the Realme X packs in a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC, which is a year old mid-range processor has clock speeds of up to 2.2GHz and comes with Adreno 616 GPU — followed by 4GB or 8GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. For gaming, the Realme X comes with new gel cooling technology and Hyperboost 2.0 — while the former utilizes copper foil, graphic flakes and aluminum alloy to keep the device cool during gaming sessions, the latter is said to meet the performance requirements and will be improving the overall gaming experience as well.

As for the image optics, the mid-range Realme X features 48MP dual rear cameras, meaning the 48MP Sony IMX 586 sensor with f/1.7 aperture coupled with a 5MP secondary camera. The primary sensor comes with Quad Bayer pixel binning technology to achieve the 48MP image. The rear cameras are AI-powered and come with Nightscape mode for better low-light photos, and they further come with Chroma Boost mode, portrait mode, and a speedy shot more as well.

The front elevating camera carries a 16MP shooter, which is also AI-Powered and comes with AI Smart beauty mode — to the extent that the camera also features Group selfie mode too. In terms of video, the Realme X rear cameras support 4K video recording of up to 30fps and 1080P slow-mo videos of uptown 120fps, the cameras also come with EIS (Electronic Image Stabilisation).

Moreover, the Realme X is powered by a 3765mAh battery, which is said to be featuring the company’s AI freezer technology, which freezes the unused apps for a longer period to limit the battery usage. The decent 3765mAh battery further supports Realme’s VOOC Flash Charge 3.0 that claims to charge the battery for up 20 55% on a single charge. The Realme X ships with Google’s latest Android Pie-based ColorOS 6.0, which is said to be coming with a realm vision theme as well.

The connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Dual VoLTE 4G, GPS, USB Type-C, and supports Bluetooth 5.0. The Realme X also features Dolby Atmos support for more enhanced sound featuring three modes — cinema mode, game mode, and music modes.

The Realme X launched in the country will be featured in Polar White, Space Blue and the master editions launched will feature in Onion and Garlic color variants. The company has recently launched Realme X Spider-Man Far From Home Edition in China, and the company is bringing it to India as well. As for the pricing, the Realme X 4GB RAM + 128GB variant is priced at Rs 16,999 and the larger 8GB+128GB variant at Rs 18,999. The Garlic and the Onion color variants are priced at Rs 19,999 and lastly, the Spider-Man edition will be priced at Rs 20,999.
