OnePlus 7 Devices will have Whole New Displays (preferably 2K), CEO Pete Lau confirms: Report

In the past few weeks, several reports were floating around the web suggesting about the upcoming much-anticipated OnePlus 7 devices. The multiple reports suggested OnePlus 7 devices’ launch date is said to be announced on 23rd of April and few other reports revealed the design of the OnePlus 7 and the Pro version of it as well. Not long ago, there was a much interesting report suggesting OnePlus 7 would be featuring its first 2K Display with refresh rates of up to 90Hz and also new stereo speakers as well.

A new report from The Verge suggests that the new 90Hz display on the upcoming OnePlus 7 devices might be presumed to be true. According to the report, OnePlus CEO has shed some information about the OnePlus 7 devices with The Verge, which technically emphasized on the displays of the OnePlus 7 device and some more additional details of the much-awaited device as well.

According to the report, Pete Lau had confirmed that OnePlus 7 would certainly be coming with the superior model as well, which is named OnePlus 7 Pro. This device from the OnePlus 7 line-up will certainly stand out since it offers 5G as well. And, reportedly the OnePlus 7 Pro will be priced on the likes of the current Galaxy S10, Huawei P30 Pro and the iPhone XS as well. This suggests us that the OnePlus 7 Pro might be the first phone to be offering the 5G device at a much lesser price compared to the competition, as Galaxy S10 5G is certainly more priced than the regular Galaxy S10.

The report further indicates OnePlus’ intentions of their upcoming flagships and what they share in common, i.e. the new display. CEO Pete has confirmed that OnePlus has spent three times more on this new display than its predecessor models and had also claimed that it would much smoother and certainly fast when compared to its previous models. The CEO had also confirmed in the report that the new smooth and fast displays on the new OnePlus devices would certainly set a benchmark for mobile displays, he stated. However, he hadn’t shared any precise details regarding the new displays, but going through the earlier reports, we can surely expect that these new displays would indeed have 90Hz refresh rates.

To get an idea of what the 90Hz displays look like, other manufacturers like Asus and Razr have already introduced these displays wherein the Razr 1 and 2 gaming phones featured 120Hz displays, and the Asus ROG Phone had also featured the 90Hz display as well. These displays are most commonly used in the gaming phones and if the reports are believed to be accurate, then utilizing these in the next flagships of OnePlus is undoubtedly commendable, and in the coming month, we can expect these displays with the upcoming OnePlus 7 devices.
