OnePlus 7 & OnePlus 7 Pro Launch Date to be Announced on April 23rd

OnePlus will be launching three flagships smartphones in the first half of this year. While the OnePlus 7 will be the successor to last-gen OnePlus 6T, the company is also launching the premium OnePlus 7 Pro and OnePlus 7 Pro 5G. OnePlus is rumored to unveil these three new smartphones on May 14th in New York. According to the latest tweet from Pete Lau, Founder and CEO of OnePlus, the company will be officially revealing the launch date of the OnePlus 7 lineup on the coming Tuesday, i.e, April 23rd.

In India, OnePlus might skip launching the OnePlus 7 Pro 5G as the 5G rollout is yet to begin. Both the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro will be made available in all the markets. As seen with the previous OnePlus launches, we expect the India launch to on the very next day of the global launch. While the devices will be sold online via Amazon.in and OnePlus.in, the company might also partner with more retail chains to expand the offline reach.

The new OnePlus 7 will look similar to the OnePlus 6T with minor changes to the rear camera setup. However, it will come powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Mobile Platform and sports improved cameras on the rear and front. On the other hand, the OnePlus 7 Pro will be a completely new device with several first of its kind features on a OnePlus smartphone. On the front, the device is rumored to come with dual curved AMOLED display with Quad HD+ resolution.

While the OnePlus 7 will offer the standard 60Hz refresh rate, the OnePlus 7 Pro is said to offer 90Hz refresh rate for the smoother gaming experience. It will also come powered by the flagship Snapdragon 855 chipset and sports triple camera setup on the rear. It is said to feature telephoto and ultra-wide-angle lens. For selfies, the OnePlus 7 Pro will be coming with a pop-up front camera. Both the devices will be running on Android 9.0 Pie based OxygenOS 9.0 out of the box.

The Warp Charge 30 introduced exclusively with the OnePlus 6T McLaren edition will be made as a standard option with the Pro variant. The OnePlus 7 might come with the Warp Charge 20 technology which offers 5V/4A (20W) power output. Coming to the OnePlus 7 Pro 5G, it is rumored to offer same specifications as the OnePlus 7 Pro but additionally comes with Snapdragon X50 5G modem.
