Nokia has announced the Lumia 830 Windows Phone smartphone alongside the Nokia Lumia 730 at the IFA Berlin event. The beautiful looking phone with the large camera on the back comes with a 5-inch HD display. The phone comes with the slimmest and lightest profile in the Lumia series so far, and the device runs Windows Phone 8.1 OS.
For the Windows Phone 8.1 OS, Microsoft has announced the Lumia Denim update which is said to bring a lot of changes in the performance, even bumping up the speed of the Lumia camera app. The Nokia Lumia 830 is 8.5mm thick, and the screen has got the Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, while it is a curved 2.25D glass with wide viewing angle. The phone is internally powered by quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor clocking at 1.2 GHz, and 1GB of RAM. There are quite a few storage options available, with the 16GB internal storage along with MicroSD card slot for expansion up to 128 GB. Microsoft is including 15GB of OneDrive cloud storage in the device.
The Nokia Lumia 830 has a 10-megapixel PureView camera on the back, and the camera has the Zeiss optics as well as Optical Image Stabilization. The phone can record 1080p Full HD videos (1920 x 1080) @ 30 fps and Nokia has done quite a lot to give a good capture experience, by including apps such as Nokia Camera, Nokia Storyteller and Nokia Creative Studio. Some of the pre-installed apps from Nokia in the Windows Phone 8.1, include Here Drive+, Here Maps, Here Transit, MixRadio, Xbox Music.
In the audio segment, Nokia has included Nokia Rich Recording with surround sound capture (Dolby 5.1), Uplink noise cancellation for calls, 3.5 mm AV connector. The 2200 mAh battery in the Lumia 830 comes with the qI wireless charging capability and according to the company, the battery can provide up to 22 days of standby time and about 14.8 hours of talktime on 3G network.
Nokia has announced this device with the price of 330 Euros, and it would be available later this month with the color options – Orange, white, black, yellow, cyan and bright red.
