At the MWC 2017, HMD Global launched three Nokia branded smartphones running on Android. The Nokia 3, Nokia 5, and Nokia 6 devices came with basic specifications and are more targetted towards the budget segment users. Almost six months after debuting the smartphone market, Nokia entered the flagship market with its newly launched Nokia 8. Unlike the Samsung, LG, or HTC, there are no fancy features on the Nokia 8. The design of the device resembles with the earlier launched Nokia smartphones.

Now, the new report suggests one of the HMD Global’s official has hinted about the launch of a new smartphone with a bigger display than the Nokia 8. While there is no other information about the device, it is expected to be rumored Nokia 9. Before the launch of Nokia 8, few leaks mentioned the Nokia 8 as Nokia 9. However, we now came to know that Nokia 8 is totally a different device to the Nokia 9. With the newly launched Nokia 8, the company offered top notch specifications along with few innovative new features like Bothie and OZO 360 degree audio.

Based on the earlier leaks, the Nokia 9 will be coming with a two-sided bezel-less display. With the thinner top and bottom bezels, the screen-to-body is expected to be on par with the latest Samsung and LG flagship smartphones. The camera strip on the rear of the Nokia 9 might include dual camera setup, LED flash, laser autofocus, and a fingerprint sensor. LG V30 and Samsung Galaxy Note 8 smartphones launching later this month will also offer the bezel-less display. While Samsung is marketing the 18.5:9 display as Infinity display, the 18:9 display on the LG G6 is called as FullVision display.

The display on the Nokia 9 will be bigger than the 5.3-inch 2K display on the Nokia 8. It is powered by 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor that come coupled with Adreno 540 GPU. It comes with 4GB and 6GB RAM variants with 64GB and 128GB storage option. The Nokia 8 also offers a MicroSD card slot for expanding the storage up to 256GB. The Gloss Blue color variant exclusively comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. It comes with IP54 certification, and the Nokia 8 is now slightly water resistant.
