After being in the rumors mills from the last few months, Moto X4 is now officially launched by Lenovo-owned Motorola at the ongoing IFA 2017 event. The Moto X4 will be the successor to Moto X Style launched in 2015. Unlike the earlier launched Moto smartphones, the new Moto X4 comes features curved Gorilla Glass 3 on the front and rear along with an anodized aluminum frame. It is priced at €399 and will go on sale this month in Europe. The global markets along with the U.S will get the Moto X4 later this year.

Coming to the technical specifications, the Moto X4 sports a 5.2-inch AMOLED display with Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution. Under the hood is the 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 octa-core processor clocked at 2.2GHz and comes coupled with Adreno 508 GPU. It packs 3GB/4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of internal storage that can be further expandable via a MicroSD card slot. The new Moto X4 runs on the latest Android 7.1.2 Nougat. As seen on the earlier Moto devices, the Moto X4 also comes with stock UI.

The 12MP + 8MP dual camera setup on the Moto X4 comes with new feature called Landmark Detection for getting about the location in the camera app and Face Filters for adding animations in the photos or videos. It also offers DSLR-like Bokeh effect. It comes with Dual Autofocus Pixel technology and wide-angle lens. For selfies, there is a 16MP front facing camera with f/2.0 aperture and LED flash. It is backed by a 3,000mAh battery and supports TurboPower fast charging technology that can give six hours of usage in just 15 minutes.

It also comes integrated with Amazon’s Alexa AI that competes with the Google Assistant. The Moto X4 is also water and dust resistant, thanks to the IP68 certification. It is equipped with Moto Key which allows the user to access websites on the phone or laptop by using fingerprint sensor instead of typing the actual password. The One Key Navigation button placed beneath the display also comes with a fingerprint sensor. On the connectivity front, the device comes with 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, NFC, 3.5mm audio jack, and USB Type-C port.

The smartphone measures 148.35 x 73.4 x 7.99 mm and weighs 163 grams. It comes only in Super Black & Sterling Blue color options. The company also partnered with the French company called Tempow to integrate the new ‘Wireless Sound System’ software that allows the Moto X4 to connect simultaneously up to four Bluetooth devices. On the right edge, we can spot the volume rocker along with power button.
