At the recently concluded IFA 2017, we have seen new flagship smartphones from the brands like LG and Sony. Next week, we will be looking at few more flagship launches from the major smartphone brands. Apple will be coming up with three new iPhones along side few other gadgets. On the other hand, the earlier announced flagship smartphone Samsung will be launching in the Indian market. Talking about the Chinese market, Xiaomi is all set to revamp the bezel-less display standard with their new smartphone. So, let’s talk about each device in detail now.

Apple iPhone 8 (or iPhone X)

Apple will be unveiling the successors to iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus along with the special edition to commence the 10th anniversary of the Apple iPhones. The special edition device will be mostly launched as iPhone X instead of iPhone 8. It sports a metal frame along with glass on the front and rear. On the front, we will be looking at an edge-to-edge OLED display with a small cutout on the top for a front facing camera, 3D facial recognition sensor, IR sensor, and more. Under the hood, the iPhone 8/X will be powered by latest Apple A11 chipset built on 10nm architecture. There will be no Touch ID home button on this device; instead, the device comes with a virtual home button. The fingerprint sensor will be integrated into the power button on the right edge.

Xiaomi Mi MIX 2

Last year, Xiaomi launched the Mi MIX with the three-sided bezel-less display, infrared proximity sensor, and virtual earpiece. After the launch of Mi MIX, we have quite a few smartphones launching the bezel-less display and 18:9 aspect ratio. Now, the company is all set to take the bezel-less display to the next level by offering higher screen-to-body ratio ever seen on a smartphone. Unlike the Mi MIX, the upcoming Mi MIX 2 sports the bezel-less display with less wide making it easy to hold. We hope the company will be offering some sort of protection to the display on the Mi MIX 2. Along side the MI MIX 2, Xiaomi will also launch the Mi Note 3 smartphone with dual rear cameras and Snapdragon 660 SoC. Both these devices will be running on the latest Android Nougat based MIUI 9 out of the box.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8

At the Unpacked event held in New York, Samsung has officially unveiled the Galaxy Note 8 as the successor to fire-prone Galaxy Note 7. The India launch event of the Galaxy Note 8 will be held on the same day of new Apple iPhones global launch, i.e., September 12th. The Indian variant will come powered by in-house 10nm Exynos 8895 octa-core processor coupled with Mali G71 MP20 GPU and 6GB of RAM. This is also the first Galaxy Note smartphone to use the Infinity display that was introduced with the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus. It sports a 6.3-inch Super AMOLED Infinity display with Quad HD+ resolution. On the rear, we will be looking at 12MP dual rear cameras with dual OIS, 2X optical zoom, dual capture, and live focus. Along with the Galaxy Note 8, the new S Pen is also IP68 certified making them water and dust resistant.
