A couple of days back, we had reported about the existence of a new smartphone from Honor. We also got to a photo, however, the smartphone wasn’t clearly visible. It was said to be the new Honor V9 Mini smartphone and it was also expected that it would launch very soon in the market. However, now the company has announced that they will be launching a new smartphone on September 6th, but it isn’t the Honor V9 Mini.

Yes, Honor has confirmed that they will be launching a new smartphone on September 6th, however, as mentioned earlier, this isn’t the new V9 Mini. The company has confirmed to launch the new Honor V9 Play smartphone. For those of you who don’t know, this is the last day of IFA 2017 trade show, however, the event is scheduled to take place in China and not in Berlin, so in a way, this is sort of unrelated to the IFA trade show.

Apart from just unveiling the smartphone first in China, it also looks like the smartphone will be exclusive to China or at least initially unless the company decides to do otherwise. However, other than this, we don’t anything about the smartphone officially, since the company has not shared any details or teasers. But we do have some leaked info through which we can figure out a few details about the smartphone. It has been reported that this is the exact same device which was spotted on TENAA as well.

As far as the specs of this smartphone are concerned, it looks like it will be equipped with Kirin 659 processor, which is again, the in-house processor which the company makes. This is expected to be coupled with 4GB of RAM. In terms of the optics, it has been reported that it will sport a single sensor at the back, instead of a dual sensor setup like the Honor V9, which it is popularly known for. The Honor V9 Play will also sport a fingerprint scanner. Other than that, unfortunately, we don’t have any other info, however, we expect to learn more about it in coming days.

As mentioned earlier, the smartphone is scheduled to launch in the month of September i.e. September 6th to be precise. If you are interested in knowing more about this device, then we suggest you stay tuned to PhoneRadar for more info. With that said, be sure to let us know if you would be interested in buying this smartphone if it ever launches in India.
