The Chinese smartphone manufacturer Meizu has been teasing the launch of its 2019 flagship smartphone called Meizu 16s. Today, the company has officially confirmed to launch this new device on April 23rd in China. While there are already a few leaks about the Meizu 16s, the newly leaked promo video revealed the pricing of the smartphone. The Meizu 16s with the flagship specifications will be retailing from CNY 3398 (approx USD 500 / INR 35,000). However, we need to wait until the launch day to confirm these leaked details.
The Meizu 16s was already listed on TENAA with the model number M971Q. Though the leaked images show a thin chin instead of the notch on the top, it will mostly sport waterdrop notch display on the front. Under the hood, it will come powered by the 7nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Mobile Platform coupled with Kryo 485 CPU and Adreno 640 GPU. The Meizu 16s even scored 374,190 on Antutu benchmarking app and it stays ahead of the other Snapdragon 855-powered smartphones including the Samsung Galaxy S10+, LG G8 ThinQ, Xiaomi Mi 9, and OPPO Reno 10x Zoom.
It will be coming with a 6.2-inch AMOLED display and offers Full HD+ (2232 x 1080 pixels) resolution. Based on the leaks, the Meizu 16s might come in 6GB and 8GB RAM variants with up to 256GB of internal storage. The device runs on the latest Android 9.0 Pie-based Flyme OS out of the box. It sports dual camera setup on the rear featuring 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor and ring LED flash. On the front, it will offer a 20MP single camera for selfies.
