Meizu has already confirmed to launch a new flagship smartphone called Meizu 16s in China. Now, a new Meizu smartphone with the model number M971Q got certified by China’s TENAA. Based 0n the recent leaks, the M971Q is said to be the model number of Meizu 16s smartphone. The device looks the same as seen on the leaked images. It comes with a glossy finish body with curved edges. It sports dual camera setup on the rear with LED flash ring.
The device will be coming in Black, White, and Gradient Blue color options. According to the TENAA listing, the Meizu 16s will be coming with a 6.2-inch Super AMOLED display with Full HD+ (2232 x 1080 pixels) resolution. Under the hood is the 7nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Mobile Platform coupled with Kryo 485 CPU and Adreno 640 GPU. It packs 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. There is no MicroSD card slot option on this device for storage expansion.
It runs on Android 9.0 Pie out of the box with Flyme OS skin laid on top. The dual camera setup on the rear features 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor and a 20MP secondary sensor. For selfies, the device will be coming with a 20MP front-facing camera. It sports in-display fingerprint scanner and might also come with face unlock support. The device is backed by a 3,540mAh battery and supports 24W fast charging support.
Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5, GPS, and USB Type-C. As seen on other Chinese flagship smartphones, there is no 3.5mm audio jack on this device as well. It measures 151.9 × 73.4 × 7.65 mm and weighs 166 grams. Both the power button and volume rocker are placed on the right edge of the device.
