BLU Pure XL with 24MP Rear Camera and 3,500mAh Battery Launched in the US for $349

As we are going closer to the year ending, We can expect smartphone manufacturers to unveil their flagship devices. While Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy Gear S2 smartwatch, Sony launched their Xperia Z5 series of smartphones. Google had confirmed the date as September 29th for the launch of two new Nexus smartphones. Surprisingly HTC is also going to hold an event on the same date; we expect the company to launch two new flagship devices.
Apart from this big manufacturers, Miami-based smartphone manufacturer, BLU has unveiled a new smartphone called ‘BLU Pure XL.’ Unlike earlier launched smartphones, the BLU Pure XL comes with flagship specifications and costing almost half of what flagship devices from major manufacturers cost. It will be exclusively sold on Amazon starting from September 29 for a price of $349.
The Chinese smartphone manufacturer Gionee is the ODM (Original Development Manufacturer) for the BLU Pure XL. The Gionee Elife E8 is the same device that was re-branded as BLU Pure XL and in Europe the same device is sold as AllView X2 Xtreme.
Apart from the Company’s name all the three devices look same and sports same specifications. The BLU Pure XL is powered by the MediaTek’s flagship Helio X10 octa-core processor clocked at 2.0GHz. It sports a 6-inch Quad HD (2560×1440) Super AMOLED display with a pixel density of 490ppi and is protected by a Gorilla Glass 3. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box.
The Helio X10 processor is supported 3GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Unlike other BLU products, the Pure XL comes with an external storage option that support up to 64GB. Talking about the camera, it has a 24MP rear camera with 2nd Gen OIS, f/2.0 aperture, dual LED flash, and Sapphire glass lens. It also supports Fast Focus that can focus in 0.08-0.2 seconds. The rear camera supports recording video in 4K resolution.
On the front is an 8MP autofocus camera that can give capture better selfies. On the right of the device, you can also find a dedicated physical shutter button for faster access to the camera. All this kept powered on by the 3,500mAh battery that supports fast charging. By using the official 2Amp charger, you can get 4 hours of talk time with just 10 minutes of charging.
Even with such a large battery the device is just 9.6mm thick. It has an Aluminium metal body that gives a premium feel to the Pure XL. To keep your device protected, it has a fingerprint sensor placed on the rear of the device. The device will be available in the colors Gold and Grey. It supports dual SIM dual standby with 4G LTE connectivity. The device measures 164 x 82.2 x 9.6 mm and weighs 202 grams.
The earlier launched flagship device BLU Life Pure XL is also the rebranded smartphone, it is the same device that was launched by Gionee as Elife E7. The BLU smartphones are sold in 40 countries all over the world. Earlier this month, the company has also launched two entry-level WindowsPhone 8 powered smartphone in India and European markets.
