Chinese OEM maker Xiaomi has recently launched its sub-brand’ Redmi 7A smartphone in the country, which happens to be the next iteration of its budget ‘A’ series’ Redmi 6A, announced last year. Xiaomi is now gearing up to launch another premium smartphone this month, which is claimed to be the most affordable powerful device that is also said to take on recently released OnePlus 7 series, as suggested by earlier reports.

Yes, the Redmi K20 series finally gets a launch date in the country, which is said to be on July 17. The Chinese manufacturer had taken Twitter to announce the launch date. Xiaomi had launched the Redmi K20 series that includes — the Redmi K20 and the K20 Pro last month China. After which, it was rumored to be dubbed as Poco F2 phone India, however, company’s global VP Manu Kumar Jain had put an end to these rumors indicating the Redmi K20 series launch is imminent in July.
And, as promised, the company will be bringing the much anticipated Redmi K20 series to the Indian markets by the end of this month. These same devices were launched as Mi 9T and the Mi 9T Pro in Global markets including Russia. In India, the company had also organized its traditional 48Mi Explorers program for MI fans prior to the Redmi K20 series launch. The ’48’ indicates the 48MP rear camera on the Redmi K20 Pro.

To recall the specifications — both Redmi K20 series phones share identical specs except for the processor and cameras. To start with, the Redmi K20 series phone feature a 6.39-inch AMOLED 19.5:9 Full HD+ display. Both come in similar storage variants that include 64/128/256GB onboard storage and 6/8GB of RAM options as well. As for the cameras, both the devices share triple rear cameras comprising of 48MP+8MP+13MP, except the primary sensors, differ, meaning the K20 comes with a Sony IMX582 48MP sensor and the K20 Pro features Sony IMX 586 sensor. Although, both phones come with 20MP selfie shooters.
Under the hood, while the Redmi K20 packs in a Snapdragon 710 SoC, the K20 Pro is powered by a Qualcomm’s latest flagship Snapdragon 855 SoC. Further, both the devices share the same 4000mAh battery, however, included power adapter differs — the K20 gets an 18W adapter, and the Pro variant gets the 27W adapter.
It is still unclear on whether the same specs and storage variants of the Redmi K20 and the K20 Pro launched in China will be featuring in India as well.
