Xiaomi Mi A3 Spotted on FCC indicating 48MP Triple Rear Cameras and Android One branding: Report

Xiaomi has launched its Android One powered series earlier with the Mi A1 and Mi A2 series smartphones. These phones are a mix of Xiaomi’s well-known hardware and Google’s latest software offered in an affordable mid-range price bracket. The first Android One powered Mi phone — the Mi A1 was launched back in 2017 and the next iteration — the Mi A2 early last year. And, the successor to the Mi A2 is due this year; however, it appears the company is working on it.

According to folks at Android Authority and the recent FCC listings, Xiaomi is indeed working on a new smartphone that seems to be an Android One powered smartphone. With the recent FCC list filings, a new Xiaomi device bearing M1906F9SH model number has been filed. Further, these filings reveal a new XIaomi new device’ back panel indicating some of the interesting features of the new entrant.

The rear back panel spotted showcased a Xiaomi device with a typical 48MP AI camera branding alongside the Android One moniker as well, suggesting the spotted device is indeed an Android One powered smartphone. The spotted rear back panel also doesn’t feature any rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, unlike the earlier Mi A1 and A2 phones, indicating it might be equipped on the front underneath the display.

The report further confirms that this new supposedly Mi A3 device might also be the rebranded version of the earlier released Mi CC series’ CC 9e smartphone, according to reported TENAA listings as well; however it is still uncertain. If the report is believed to be accurate, then we can expect the Mi A3 to share identical specs as the Mi CC 9e that include — a Snapdragon 665 SoC, 4/6GB of RAM and 32/64/128GB of onboard storage. Further, similar to the Mi CC 9e, the Mi A3 might also come with triple rear cameras (rear back panel spotted also hints the same) featuring a 48MP primary sensor followed by an 8MP and 2MP sensor. Up front, we can additionally speculate a 32MP selfie shooter on the supposedly Mi A3 as well.

As for the display, when compared with the CC 9e, the Mi A3 will likely to feature a 6-inch OLED screen with an under-display fingerprint sensor as well. Right now, these are all rumored specs and speculations of the alleged Mi A3 Android One smartphone. There isn’t any official information regarding the Mi A3 device from the company yet.
