Xiaomi Launches Mijia Quartz Watch with Smart Features for Rs 3,500 (349 Yuan)

Xiaomi has dethroned Apple and Fitbit as the market leaders in the wearable segment. While the other two brands are mainly focused on the premium Wearable market, Xiaomi became the market leader just by selling $20 fitness band. Recently, the company thrid-generation Mi Band called Mi Band 3 in China. Apart from the refreshed design, the company has also added NFC support for making mobile payments. Today, Xiaomi has unveiled a new fitness-centric product called Mijia Quartz Watch.

It is basically a hybrid analog watch that comes included with smart features. A couple of months back, Lenovo has similar products called Watch 9 and Watch X. The Mijia Quartz Watch comes with the stainless steel body with mineral coated glass on the top/ According to the company, the glass on this watch is said to have a 3X more hardness than the sapphire glass. The dial of this watch has a diameter of 40mm and supports 20mm straps.

The straps are user replaceable and the replaced with any other 20mm strap. It is also waterproof and includes a button cell battery that should last at least for six months. The watch comes with dual dial where the large dial shows the time and smaller dial indicates the steps count. Many other smart analog watches need to be paired with smartphones to know the steps count. On the connectivity front, the watch supports Bluetooth 4.0 for pairing with a smartphone.

Talking about the smart features, the Mijia Quartz Watch can track fitness data and notifies while receiving calls or messages. It can also be used for setting alarm and sedentary reminders. The Mijia Quartz Watch will be available in White, Gray and Black color options. It is priced at 349 Yuan (approx USD 50 / INR 3500) and will be on sale starting July 17th in China.
