Xiaomi had been very late in releasing the Android 5.0 Lollipop upgrade for their devices, but for the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow the company has been working hard to roll out the updates as soon as possible. While the upcoming flagship Mi 5 is expected to launch with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box, before to that the company will be releasing the beta updates for Xiaomi Mi 3, Mi 4, and Mi Note smartphones.
The company will be stoping the development of MIUI based Android 4.4 KitKat by this week and will be focusing on latest Marshmallow based MIUI 7. While the Beta version of the Android 6.0 Marshmallow will be released for Mi 3, Mi 4, and Mi Note; there is information about the Mi4i, Mi4c, Redmi Note 3, and Redmi Note 2 smartphones.
A team member of MIUI team has posted an Image of Mi 4 LTE running on the MIUI 7 5.11.20 version based on the Marshmallow. From the image, we can find out the Android version will be of MRA58K. Earlier this week, Microsoft had also released the flashable Windows 10 OS for the Mi 4 LTE smartphones.
Till date, only a few manufacturers like LG, HTC, Motorola have released the Android 6.0 Marshmallow updates for few of their smartphones. The HTC One A9 is the first non-Nexus smartphone to come with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box. Last month, Xiaomi had launched the Redmi Note 3 and Mi Pad 2 which are successors of Redmi Note 2 and Mi Pad.
While the Mi Pad 2 is now available with Android 5.0 Lollipop OS, the company had also announced the Windows 10 running Mi Pad 2 to be launched by the end of this month. As of now there are few unofficial ROM’s based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow available for those who want to try out the latest features prior to the official update from Xiaomi.
