Vivo S1 with Helio P65 SoC & 16MP Triple Rear Cameras Launched in India

Vivo India has finally unveiled its new mid-range smartphone lineup with the launch of Vivo S1 smartphone in the country. It falls under the new Vivo S series introduced by the Chinese manufacturer back in March in their home country. The company had earlier released the Pro variant of the Vivo S1 smartphone as well; however, these Chinese Vivo S1 smartphones differ from the variants launched in India and Indonesia previously. The Indian consumers get the variant released in Indonesia, last month.

The new Vivo S1 is offered in a new gradient finish back panel, which claimes to give a different perspective in various lighting conditions when it comes to design, according to the company. The Vivo S1 is offered in unique Skyline Blue, and new diamond pattern design finish black panel, which the company calls it the Diamond Black color variant.

Digging into the deets, the Vivo S1 offers a 6.38-inch FHD+ 19.5:9 Super AMOLED display (the company calls it Halo FullView Display), which provides a screen-to-body-ratio of 90% and the pixel density of 404ppi. The AMOLED display further comes with Schott Xensation 3D Protection alongside the Widevine L1 support (said to be available by OTA by end of August) for HD playback on the video streaming apps. The display also comes with 98% DCI P3 Color Gamut for more producing more accurate colors.

Similar to the Indonesian variant launched, the Vivo S1 unveiled in India also comes with MediaTek’s latest Helio P65 SoC, which is supposedly the first phone in the country to be powered by this new processor, which is built on a 12nm process and comes with Cortex A75 cores claiming to offer better performance. In terms of storage, the Vivo S1 features either 4/6GB RAM and 64/128GB onboard storage options respectively, which can be further expanded via microSD for up to 256GB (features triple card slot and supports OTG too).

As for the optics, the latest Vivo S1 comes with triple rear cameras featuring a 16MP Sony IMX499 primary sensor (with f/1.8 aperture) coupled with an 8MP (f/2.2 aperture) AI-powered Super Wide Angle camera alongside a 2MP depth-sensing camera with an aperture of f/2.4 as well. These triple cameras offered do come with a bunch of features including — HDR mode, Live Photo, Portrait mode, AI portrait & AI face beauty, slow-mo recording, AR stickers and more. Upfront, the Vivo S1 carries a 32MP selfie shooter in the notch with f/2.0 aperture, which also has AI Face beauty, portrait lighting, and AR stickers as well.

For authentication, the Vivo S1 packs in an in-display fingerprint sensor, which assures to unlock the screen in 0.48 seconds and further allows to unlock the device off-screen as well. Moreover, the Vivo S1 packs in a decent 4500mAh battery that further comes with Vivo’s 18W dual-engine fast charge support, and, the adapter is included in the box as well. The Vivo S1 is shipped with Android Pie-based Funtouch OS 9 out-of-the-box.

As for the pricing, the Vivo S1 launched in India starts at Rs 17,990 for 4GB+128GB variant and the 6GB+64GB is priced at Rs 18,990 and lastly, the larger 6GB+128GB variant is priced at Rs 19,990. Stay connected to PhoneRadar for more such interesting updates.
