Vivo S1 with 32MP Selfie Camera & Screen TouchID Launched

Back in March, this year, Vivo has launched Vivo S1 smartphone in China and later in May the Pro version (Vivo S1 Pro) of it launched as well. And, recent reports were suggesting the Vivo S1 launch in India is imminent but not the same Vivo S1 that launched in China, which featured a pop-up selfie camera, Helio P70 SoC and a triple rear cameras setup. Instead, the variant that is said to be launching in India happens to be powered by an Helio P65 SoC and is expected to launch by the end of this month or likely in the first week of next month.

Regardless, the Vivo S1 has been launched in Indonesia before India with the aforementioned specifications that are utterly different from the Chinese Vivo S1 variant. Though it is different, it still comes with interesting specifications, digging into the deets — the new Vivo S1 features a 6.38-inch Super AMOLED FHD+ (1080×2340 pixels) display packed in a gradient back enclosure. The display further comes with the in-screen fingerprint sensor, which the company calls it Screen Touch ID for authentication.

Under the hood, the Vivo S1, as suggested earlier, packs in an octa-core Helio P65 processor — followed by 4GB RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. In terms of optics, the new Vivo S1 features triple AI-powered rear cameras comprising of a 16MP primary sensor, accompanied by an 8MP and 2MP camera sensors as well. Upfront, the device hosts a 32MP selfie shooter in the waterdrop notch. The rear cameras additionally come with different modes that include Portrait mode, AR stickers, AI filtered and the front selfie shooter also has additional features including — AI Face Beauty and Super wide-angle camera and Live Photos as well.

The new Vivo S1 launched in Indonesia is kept alive by a 4500mAh battery that supports Vivo’s fast charging as well. The connectivity options include dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, USB 2.0. And, lastly, the Vivo S1 ships with Android 9.0 Pie-based FuntouchOS 9 out-of-the-box. As for the pricing, the Vivo S1 launched in Indonesia is priced at IDR 3,599,000 (Rs 17,800 approx.). The device features in Cosmic Green, and Skyline Blue color variants. After the Indonesia launch, the Indian variant of the new Vivo S1 could be coming in sometime soon.
