A couple of months back, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 2017 is listed on the benchmarking websites revealing key specifications. During that time, it also got the certified by FCC confirming the official launch to happen soon. Now in August, the same Galaxy Tab A 2017 is listed on TENAA with the model number SM-T385C. Even the tablet’s support page is now live on the company’s Chinese website. However, Samsung is yet to reveal the official day of this smart tablet. Most of the major manufacturers are still launching several tablets every year even when the market growth is trending down.
Talking about the tablet itself, the Galaxy Tab A 2017 sports an 8-inch display and offers 1200 x 800 pixels resolution. It is said to come powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 quad-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz. This new processor comes coupled with Adreno 308 GPU and GB of RAM. It offers just 16GB of internal storage, but there is also a MicroSD card slot for further expansion. Since the entry-level tablets are mostly used for media consumption, the companies should provide more storage and bigger battery capacity. It runs on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat based TouchWiz UI.
In the camera department, the Galaxy Tab A 2017 sports an 8MP camera on the rear and a 5MP camera on the front for selfies and video calls. The power button and volume rocker are placed on the right edge of the device. We don’t expect Samsung to launch the Galaxy Tab A 2017 in Wi-Fi only and Wi-Fi + LTE variants. Takes these details with a pinch of salt and wait for the official launch. Next week, the company will be announcing the Galaxy Note 8 with the S Pen, infinity display, and dual camera setup.
Instead of launching the Galaxy Tab A 2017 alongside the Galaxy Note 8, the company might launch the tablet at the upcoming IFA 2017 that will be held in Berlin, Germany. In July this year, another Galaxy tablet with the model number SM-T550 also received the Wi-Fi certification. It is expected to be the Galaxy Tab A 9.7 and packs similar hardware as on the Galaxy Tab A 2017. With the bigger form factor, it also comes with a bigger battery capacity.
