Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact’s Leaked Render Video Shows A Very Familiar Design

A couple of days back, we had reported about the new Sony Xperia XZ1, where a 3D CAD video render was leaked, which showed us what the device would look like. And now, today, we have yet another leaked render video and this time we are looking at the younger brother of the Xperia XZ1 i.e. the Xperia XZ1 Compact. And just as you would expect, we are pretty much looking at the exact same design for the most part.

As you can see from the leaked render video which we have embedded below, the Xperia XZ1 Compact’s design resembles that of the Xperia XZ1. However, the thickness of the Xperia XZ1 Compact appears to be more than that of the regular variant. It has been reported that the dimensions for this particular smartphone in question are 129.5 x 64.5 x 9.4 mm.

The dimensions clearly mention that the Xperia XZ1 compact is 9.4mm thick. However, if you recall from our last report, the Xperia XZ1 was just 7.4mm thick and this means that we are essentially looking at a device which is about 2mm thicker than the regular variant. But considering the fact that this is a compact variant, we can expect it to be thick since the overall form factor is going to be small.

Now, talking about the specs, it looks like the XZ1 compact will sport a 4.6-inch display on the front, which is quite rare in the market today. Also, it looks like the camera on the Xperia XZ1 Compact won’t be the same as that of the Xperia XZ1 since there is no noticeable camera bump. However, it is also possible that the increase in the thickness is the reason for the absence of the camera bump.

A few of the previously reported rumors also suggest that the smartphone will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC and it will be coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The smaller display on the front is also said to be an HD panel and not FHD. However, do make a note that none of this info is officially confirmed by the company and all these are just based off on rumors. Having said that, we suggest you stay tuned to PhoneRadar for more details on this very soon as the device is expected to be unveiled in the month of September at IFA 2017 show floor.
