Update: Jan 18: Samsung, the Korean giant last year launched two flagship killer devices, i.e., the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus. Now, the brand has officially launched the Dual-SIM version of Galaxy Note 5 with 32GB storage for the Indian users priced at Rs 51,400. It comes with dual Nano SIM card slots supporting the 4G connectivity. This device is available in three variants of colors, i.e., Black Sapphire, Gold Platinum, and Silver Titanium and would be officially available on the Samsung India’s e-Store. The brand is also planning to launch 64GB variant of the device for Rs 57,400, but the availability of this variant is yet to be revealed.

Update: Sep 7 – Samsung Mobile India has officially launched the Note 5 Smartphone in India at a Price of Rs 53,900 for the 32GB Variant & Rs 59,900 for the 64GB Variant. The device comes with a free wireless charging pad for the initial purchases made through their official eStore. The biggest point to make a note is that these devices would be “Made in India”. The devices would be sold from 20th september in India.

Earlier: Sep 1 – Jk Shin, Samsung Mobile Chief Unveiled the most speculated smartphone ‘Galaxy Note 5‘ along with Galaxy S6 Edge+ at the Galaxy Unpacked event held in New York on August 13. The company has recently launched its Galaxy S6 Edge+ in India for Rs.57,900. As per our trusted internal source, Samsung will launch the Galaxy Note 5 in India on September 7. Since the company is yet to confirm it, the actual launch may be postponed or preponed to a day or two. As the leaks suggest the device come with a metallic frame around the device. The device packs massive 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM, that we first seen on the recently launched OnePlus 2.

The device packs a 5.7-inch Quad HD (2560×1440) Super AMOLED display with a pixel density of 518ppi. It is powered by an in-house 64-bit Exynos 7420 SoC octa-core with four Cortex-A57 cores clocked at 2.1GHz while the other four Cortex A-53 cores clocked at 1.5GHz, it is coupled with Mali T-760 GPU and 4GB RAM. It comes in three storage options 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB of internal storages.

It would also pack a 16MP rear camera with an aperture of f/1.9 and a dual LED flash, it also comes with OIS support. There is also a 5MP front camera with the same aperture of f/1.9. The device runs on the latest Android 5.1.1 lollipop based on the TouchWiz UI. There is no microSD card slot which rumors suggested that the company has actually opted for it.

There will be a Corning Gorilla Glass 4 on the front and rear of the device. It also supports Qi wireless charging which we earlier seen on the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. It has a non-removable battery of 3,000mAh capacity with fast charging support for both wired and wireless.

Connectivity on the device include WiFi 802.11 b/g/n/ac with 2.4GHz & 5.0GHz supported MiMo technology, Bluetooth 4.2 LE, NFC, 4G LTE, and GPS/A-GPS. The device measures 153.2 x 76.1 x 7.6 mm and weighs 171 grams. They are available in the colors – White Pearl, Black Sapphire, Gold Platinum and Silver Titanium.

They will be on sale in the US starting from 21st August and the company also mentioned that the device will not be launched in the UK along with other European countries. As per the company, the Galaxy Note 5 is targeted towards the US and Asian markets. The device also supports upcoming Samsung Pay which will be launched on August 20 in South Korea and will be launched in other countries in the coming days.
