ZTE, the Chinese mobile giant, has announced a new smartphone under its brand Nubia in China. The Shenzhen-headquartered Corporation has launched a Nubia Prague S smartphone in their home country today. The announcement was made via company’s official Weibo page. These days many companies are announcing their latest handsets via the famous microblogging site. As recently, Xiaomi did with its new Snapdragon 650 chipset powered Redmi Note 3, which is apparently heading to India soon.

The Nubia Prague S sports a 5.2-inch 1080p display resolution that would be fuelled by a Snapdragon 615 processor, which is a 64-bit chipset clocking at 1.5GHz. The Super AMOLED OGS is a display covered with 2.5D curved glass with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. There would be a support of Adreno 405, which is a graphics processing unit for the processor. Alongside is the 3GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage, which would be expandable up to 128GB via microSD card slot.

The device runs on the Nubia UI 3.0 skin on top of the Android Lollipop 5.1 version, which is to say it’s quite on par with other big brand handsets in this range in the country. In the camera department, there is a package of 13-megapixel and 8-megapixel image sensors; first is the rear module with PDAF (Phase Detection Auto-Focus), f/2.2 aperture, 5P Lens and LED Flash, while the latter is a front-facing camera with wide-angle lens and f/2.4 aperture.

The connectivity options include 4G LTE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi (Dual Bands), GPS and microUSB 2.0 port. It measures 6.8mm in thickness and 135 grams in weight. All this is powered by a 2200mAh battery, which is quite small compared to the size and display resolution it comes, moreover, the SD 615 isn’t that efficient when we look back in history. But there is one interesting feature, fast charging, which would help in overcoming the shortage of the battery capacity.

The ZTE Nubia Prague S is available for pre-order on from the popular e-Commerce site, JD.com, at a price tag of 2499 Yuan, which is approximately $380. Now that’s a hefty amount for a smartphone with Snapdragon 615 chipset powered smartphones. Some of the most affordable options with this processor and display resolution are Obi Worldphone SF1 and Xiaomi Mi 4i. Moreover, they also offer better battery capacity. You can check out our reviews of both the handsets to know more about them, unfortunately, these handsets aren’t available in the China. The handset would be available in two colors; Silver and Rose Gold.
