Last year, China-based Nubia announced a new gaming smartphone brand called Red Magic. The first Red Magic smartphone was sold via Kickstarter. It was then powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Mobile Platform and lacked any gaming specific features except the LED strip on the rear. Later the company came up with an updated version called Red Magic Mars with the latest hardware and better features.

Now, the company is getting ready to unveil its third gaming smartphone called Red Magic 3 in the coming months. Later today, Xiaomi-backed Black Shark will be unveiling the Black Shark 2 gaming smartphone powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Mobile Platform. Red Magic also confirmed to use the same flagship processor and 12GB of RAM for the upcoming Red Magic 3 smartphone.

The display on this device is also mentioned to offer a higher refresh rate than most of the PC displays. While there are gaming monitors with a 144Hz refresh rate, Razer Phone and Razer Phone 2 are the only smartphones to offer even 120Hz display. The ASUS ROG Phone is the second best option with the 90Hz display. Let’s wait and see, if Red Magic 3 comes with a 90Hz display or goes all the way up to 120Hz refresh rate.

It is also mentioned to come with a bigger than the 3,8000mAh battery offer with the Red Magic Mars. The device will continue to feature the capacitive shoulder button for better control while playing games. The custom-calibrated haptic feedback along with the dedicated gaming vibration engine will continue to be part of the Red Magic smartphones. We can also expect improvement in the liquid cooling system for avoiding thermal throttling. Stay tuned on Phone Radar for more details!
