Update: The company has now made official regarding the launch of Nokia 3.1 in India. It will be available in Blue/Copper, White/Iron and Black/Chrome color options. The Nokia 3.1 will be on sale starting July 21st via Nokia online store, Paytm Mall, and offline stores.
Back in May, HMD Global has officially unveiled the Nokia 2.1, Nokia 3.1 & Nokia 5.1 smartphones at an event held in Russia. While these three new devices are recently listed on the company’s Indian website, there is no official announcement to date. According to our exclusive source, HMD Global will soon launch the Nokia 3.1 smartphone in India as the successor to last year’s Nokia 3. Initially, only the 2GB RAM variant will be made available in the country and the 3GB RAM variant will follow soon.
The Nokia 3.1 with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage will be costing Rs 10,499 in India. It will be sold via offline retailers across the country. The launch offers for the Nokia 3.1 include 10% Paytm cashback and Rs 500 movie voucher. Just yesterday, the company has launched the Nokia X5 at a similar price in China. While the Nokia X5 offers the best value for money than many other Chinese brands, the Nokia 3.1 with the mediocre specifications is certainly an overpriced device.
It comes with the diamond cut metal unibody design and sports 2.5D curved glass on the front. The device sports 5.2-inch IPS display with HD+ (1280 x 720 pixels) resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. It packs 64-bit MediaTek MT6750N octa-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz and Mali-T860 GPU. While the 2GB RAM variant comes with 16GB of internal storage, the 3GB RAM variant offers 32GB of internal storage. There is also a MicroSD card slot for further expanding up to 128GB.
As its an Android One device, the Nokia 3.1 runs on the latest Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box with stock UI and zero bloatware. Coming to the cameras, there is a 13MP camera on the rear with PDAF and an 8MP selfie camera on the front with 84.6-degree wide-angle lens. It is backed by a 2,990mAh non-removable battery and might not support fast charging. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth 4.2, 3.5mm audio jack, and a MicroUSB 2.0 port.
