No More OPPO R series smartphones, confirms the company’s Global VP

Late last week, Chinese smartphone manufacturer OPPO has unveiled its brand new series of smartphones called – OPPO Reno series. The company had launched three variants of the OPPO Reno smartphone that include – OPPO Reno standard variant and the OPPO Reno with 10x lossless zoom variant and OPPO Reno 5G variant with 10x lossless zoom technology as well.
After the launch of the OPPO Reno brand and the new smartphones the company’s Global Vice President Shen Yiren had held a conference wherein he had an interview in which he had stated some interesting new changes regarding the current OPPO R series smartphone line-up, suggests a new Chinese report.
According to the new report, Shen Yiren had confirmed that OPPO would be stopping its service and support for its OPPO R series of smartphones and the company would be focusing on the next decade of its new OPPO devices line-up. Apart from the fact that OPPO had sold more than 100 million OPPO R series smartphone units over the last decade, the company had finally chosen to abandon the series for a much improved OPPO Reno series.
The report further reveals, in the future, OPPO users and consumers globally can expect a new mix of smartphones combined with current Find X and the new Reno series of smartphones altogether. What this is means is that there wouldn’t be any new OPPO R series phone in the future and the earlier released R17 and the R17 Pro might be the last smartphones of the amazing line-up.
And, also there were reports earlier indicating the same from the VP of the company suggesting that the OPPO R19 smartphone was not going to happen, which ultimately suggests OPPO’s plans in abandoning its good ten-year-old R series brand. Stay tuned to PhoneRadar for more such interesting updates.
