OPPO Reno 10X Zoom with Snapdragon 855 SoC & OPPO Reno Standard Variant Launched

At the MWC 2019, OPPO showcased its 10x lossless zoom camera technology. As announced earlier, the company is now launching the all-new OPPO Reno smartphone featuring the same periscope style zoom camera. The device comes with a 3D glass body with no protruding cameras. However, the company added O-Dot ceramic point just below the rear cameras to protect the camera lens. The triple rear cameras, OPPO logo, and the text are aligned to the center axis of the device. As expected the new smartphone comes in OPPO Reno 10x zoom and OPPO Reno standard variants.

While the OPPO Reno 10x zoom variant sports a 6.6-inch display with 93.1% screen-to-body ratio, the standard variant comes with a slightly smaller 6.4-inch display. Both the devices use the AMOLED panel and come with Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection. It also supports DCI-P3 wide color gamut and comes with TÜV Rheinland’s certification for low blue light. The OPPO Reno smartphones also use a new-gen in-display fingerprint scanner which increases the unlocking speed by 28.5 percent.

Since the device comes with a full view display with no bezels or notch, the company has opted for the side-swing pop-up selfie camera. It pops up from one corner and features the front LED flash, earpiece, and also rear LED flash. Talking about the triple rear camera setup on the 10x zoom variant, there is a 48MP Sony IMX586 primary sensor along with 13MP periscope-style telephoto sensor and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle sensor. It also has dual OIS and triple focus for capturing stable photos even without a tripod.

With the periscope-style telephoto sensor, the device covers 16mm to 160mm focal length to give up to 10x lossless zoom. The device also uses AI to offer clear images by using multi-frame noise reduction and HDR technologies. Also, the AI night portrait makes the skin look more natural. There are also 5 different styles of portrait options available within the camera app. The device can record videos up to 4K resolution in 60fps along with 3D audio which uses 3 microphones for surround sound effect. The OPPO Reno smartphones run on the latest Android 9.0 Pie-based ColorOS 6 out of the box.

The company is also introducing OPPO Pay for making contactless payments and also using the device as a transit card in China. With ColorOS 6, OPPO is also coming up with its own voice assistant called Breeno. OPPO also introducing Game Boost 2.0 mode with TouchBoost and FrameBoost technologies to enhance the gaming experience. The OPPO Reno 10x zoom and standard variants are backed by a 3765mAh and 4065mAh batteries respectively. There are stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support on this device and it also comes with Hi-Res audio certification.
