List of Devices Confirmed to Get iOS 13 and iPadOS Updates

At the WWDC 2019, Apple announced the all-new iOS 13 with Dark Mode and several new features. While the first iOS 13 beta update is now made available for the paid Apple developers, we need wait for the public beta which will be released next month. The iOS13 for iPads is actually called as iPadOS and comes with additional features which are not available on iOS 13 for iPhones. Unlike last year, not all the iPhones and iPads running on iOS 12 are eligible for iOS 13 / iPadOS update.

List of Devices Eligible for iOS 13 Update:

  • iPhone XS
  • iPhone XS Max
  • iPhone XR
  • iPhone X
  • iPhone 8
  • iPhone 8 Plus
  • iPhone 7
  • iPhone 7 Plus
  • iPhone 6S
  • iPhone 6S Plus
  • iPhone SE
  • iPod Touch (7th Gen)

The iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6, iPhone 5S, and iPod Touch (6th Gen) which have received iOS 12 update last year are no longer eligible for future iOS updates.

List of Apple iPads Eligible for iPadOS Update:

  • iPad Pro (12.9-inch)
  • iPad Pro (11-inch)
  • iPad Pro (10.5-inch)
  • iPad Pro (9.7-inch)
  • iPad (6th Gen)
  • iPad (5th Gen)
  • iPad Mini (5th Gen)
  • iPad Mini 4
  • iPad Air (3rd Gen)
  • iPad Air 2

The new iPadOS is made available for wide-range of tablets but the original iPad Air and iPad Mini 2 are left out from the eligibility list.
