The flagship LG G8 now gets another variant, which has silently been revealed by the Korean giant called — the LG G8S ThinQ. As the name suggests, its an incremental update or you can say it is the ‘S’ model of the flagship released back in February.

The LG G8S comes as a new addition to its G series, according to the company. Further, the G8S ThinQ is equipped with only 6GB RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. Like the flagship, the LG G8S ThinQ also has ToF camera beheld in the notch for utilization of LG’s Air Gestures, Face Unlock and the newly introduced Hand ID, wherein it uses users’ palm vein patterns for authentication. It also has the conventional fingerprint sensor rear-mounted as well.

As for the cameras, unlike the flagship model, the new LG G8S ThinQ features a 12MP primary rear camera with f/1.8 aperture coupled with a 13MP Super Wide Angle camera with f/2.4 aperture and a 12MP Telephoto lens with an aperture of f/2.6 as well. Up front, the LG G8S ThinQ has an 8MP selfie shooter with f/1.9 aperture alongside the ‘Z camera,’ as aforementioned.

The new flagship LG G8S ThinQ ships with Google’s latest Android 9.0 Pie out-of-the-box. And, the device is further kept alive by a slightly bigger 3550mAh battery, when compared to the flagship model and it also supports Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 too. On the connectivity front, the latest flagship also supports Wi-Fi 802.11, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC and USB Type-C (USB 3.1) for charging and data transfers. The device is further said to be IP68 rated for water and dust resistance as well.

The LG G8S ThinQ also sports Stereo speakers, AI CAM, Google Lens, and Assistant and the display is also HDR 10 compatible.
