Xiaomi in partnership with Meitu launched three smartphones under the all-new Mi CC series – Mi CC9e, Mi CC9, and Mi CC9 Meitu Edition. With the Mi CC smartphones, the company is targetting the young users in China. In terms of design, all the three smartphones look exactly similar with the 3D curved body and waterdrop notch display. However, the Mi CC9 Meitu Edition looks premium with a special gradient finish. The Mi CC9 smartphones sport the 7th-gen in-display fingerprint scanner on the front.
Talking about the cameras, there is a single 32MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture for selfies. On the rear, all the three devices come with a 48MP triple camera setup. There is a 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor with f/1.79 aperture, an 8MP super wide-angle sensor with f/2.2 aperture, and a 2MP depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. The Mi CC9 Meitu Edition comes with Meitu camera optimizations which include Meitu camera features and video editing options.
The Mi CC9 Meitu Edition also get an exclusive feature called AI low-light portrait option which allows users to portraits even in almost zero ambient light. Apart from the software-based camera optimization, the Mi CC9 Meitu Edition also offers customized UI theme and ringtone. Also, it comes with Meitu logo on the rear instead of Xiaomi logo. Apart from these changes, the Mi CC9 Meitu Edition comes with the same hardware as the Mi CC9.
Talking about the Mi CC9, it comes in White Lover, Blue Planet, and Dark Prince color options. It sports a 6.39-inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ (2340 x 1080 pixels) resolution and 91% screen-to-body ratio. The display also comes with low-blue-light eye protection certification by Germany’s VDE and includes hardware-based DC tuning feature to eliminate flickering under low light environment. Under the hood, the device packs 10nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 Mobile Platform coupled with Adreno 616 GPU.
While the Mi CC9 comes in 6GB + 64GB and 6GB + 128GB storage variant, the Mi CC9 Meitu Edition comes in 8GB + 256GB storage option. It is backed by a 4030mAh battery and supports 18W fast charging. The Mi CC9 and Mi CC9 Meitu Edition measure 156.8 x 74.5 x 8.67 mm and weighs 179 grams. Coming to the Mi CC9, it comes with a smaller 6.088-inch AMOLED display with HD+ (1560 x 720 pixels) resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.
It is powered by 11nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 Mobile Platform clocked at 2.0GHz. Even with the smaller display, the Mi CC9e also comes with the same 4,030mAh battery but packs only 10W power adapter. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, NFC, 3.5mm audio jack, IR Blaster, and USB Type-C port. Talking about the pricing and availability, the Mi CC9e comes in 4GB + 64GB, 6GB + 64GB, 6GB + 128GB variants and will be priced at CNY 1299, CNY 1399, and CNY 1599 respectively.
While the Mi CC9 6GB + 64GB variant retails at CNY 1799, and 6GB + 128GB variant comes with a price tag of CNY 1999. Finally, the Mi CC9 Meitu Edition with 8GB + 256GB will be available for CNY 2599. The preorders for Mi CC9 and Mi CC9 Meitu Edition will start tonight and will go on open sale from July 5th. The affordable Mi CC9e will be available starting July 9th.
