Huawei Watch GT Active & Elegant Smartwatches Launched with Triathlon Mode

Last year, Huawei launched the Huawei Watch GT smartwatch running on its custom LiteOS. Unlike other smartwatches, the Huawei Watch GT doesn’t support third-party apps. With just the pre-installed apps, it lasts up to 2 weeks on a single charge. As rumored suggested, the company now launched two new variants alongside the Huawei P30 and P30 Pro smartphones. The new Huawei Watch GT Active & Watch GT Elegant comes with a similar design.

Just like the original Watch GT, the new Watch GT Active also comes with a 46mm casing. It sports the same 1.39-inch touchscreen AMOLED display with 454 x 454 pixels resolution. On the other hand, the Watch GT Elegant comes in a smaller 42mm casing and sports 1.2-inch touchscreen AMOLED display with 390 x 390 pixels resolution. Unlike the other two versions, the Watch GT Elegant sports ceramic bezel.

While the Watch GT Active comes with the same 2-week battery life, the smaller Watch GT Elegant can last only up to one week on a single charge. These new variants come with a new Triathlon mode that can automatically track swimming, cycling, running along with transition time. While the Triathlon mode comes out of the box with these two new smartwatches, the earlier launched Huawei Watch GT will get this new feature via OTA update.

Coming to the pricing, the Huawei Watch GT Active and Elegant variants are priced at EUR 249 (approx USD 280 / INR 19,300) and EUR 229 (approx USD 258 / INR 17,800) respectively. Earlier this month, the company launched the Watch GT Classic and Sport variants in the Indian markets for Rs 16,990 and Rs 15,990 respectively. We also expect the new variants to be made available along with the Huawei P30 smartphones launch in India. Stay tuned on Phone Radar for more details!
