Huawei P20, P20 Pro & P20 Lite – Everything You Need to Know

Huawei will be upgrading its flagship P-series in the first half of every year. At the MWC 2017 held in Barcelona, Spain, the company launched the Huawei P10, Huawei P10 Plus, & Huawei Watch 2. While we are expecting to see the Huawei P11 and P11 Plus smartphones in 2018, the company will be instead launching them as Huawei P20 and P20 Plus. There is also an affordable variant called  Huawei P20 Lite.

Huawei P20, P20 Plus, & P20 Lite Smartphones to Launch at MWC 2018

The earlier launched Mate 10 Lite and Mate 10 Pro along with Huawei Band 2, Huawei Scale, and Huawei 360 Camera will go on sale during the 1Q 2018. Huawei will also launch one Honor smartphone during each quarter of 2018. The company will bring two new smart wireless routers in the first two quarters. While the upcoming Huawei P devices will be launched during the MWC 2018, they will go on sale only in the Q2 2018.

Huawei is yet to confirm the naming of the upcoming Huawei P devices. According to the source, Rami Hazan, CEO of the communications division at Electra Consumer Products, confirmed the launch of Huawei P20, Huawei P20 Plus, and Huawei P20 Lite smartphones in 2018. By the end of 2018, Huawei will be coming with the successors to Mate 10 Pro and Mate 10 Lite smartphones.

Talking about the Huawei P20 and P20 Plus smartphones, we might see triple lens camera on the rear. With these upcoming flagship P-series devices, Leica will also participate in developing front facing camera. Based on the leaks, the rear and front cameras will be offering 40MP & 24MP resolution respectively. The triple-lens rear camera setup will also include 5x hybrid zoom and advanced night mode.

During the upcoming CES 2018, Huawei might launch the Mate 10 smartphones in the U.S market. The Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro are powered by the Kirin 970 SoC with a dedicated NPU. The device runs on the latest Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box and sports Leica dual cameras on the rear.

Huawei P20 & Huawei P20 Plus will be Unveiled on March 27th in Paris

As expected, Huawei is skipping this year’s MWC to launch its latest P-series flagship smartphones. The company will be launching the Huawei P20 and Huawei P20 Plus smartphones on March 27th in Paris, France. As seen earlier, we might also see the Huawei P20 Porsche Design limited edition smartphone as well. Based on earlier leaks, the Huawei P20 and P20 Plus will come with the codenames Emily and Charlotte respectively.

Both these devices will be available in Ceramic Black and Twilight color options. Talking about the P20 Lite, it is codenamed as Anne and comes in Midnight Black, Klein Blue, and Sakura Pink color options. Latest: Huawei P20, P20 Pro, & P20 Lite Press Renders Leaked

Later this month, Huawei will be officially unveiling its 2018 flagship smartphones in Paris, France. Both the Huawei P20 and P20 Pro smartphones have been in the rumor mills for a long time now. Today, we the high-resolution press renders leaked in all the available color options. We also came to know the key specifications and pricing of these devices. While the P20 sports an LCD panel, the P20 Pro will be coming with an AMOLED panel.

Both the devices sports Full HD+ (2240 x 1080 pixels) display with 19:9 aspect ratio. As expected, the devices will come powered by the 10nm Kirin 970 octa-core processor coupled with 12-core Mali-G72 GPU and a dedicated NPU. Though the P20 Lite also comes with a display notch with 19:9 aspect ratio, it will be powered by a mid-range Kirin processor. Talking about the cameras, the devices sport an RGB sensor and a Monochrome sensor.

However, the P20 Pro additionally comes with a Telephoto sensor on the rear for offering 3X optical zoom. As seen last year, the P20 Lite will be missing the Leica branding. The P20 and P20 Pro will be missing the 3.5mm audio jack and expandable MicroSD card slot. The volume rocker and power button are placed on the right edge of the device. On the front, we will be looking at a display notch on the top.

Only the P20 and P20 Pro sports front facing fingerprint sensor, the P20 Lite comes with a rear-facing fingerprint sensor. The devices will also include Face Unlock feature for unlocking the device using facial recognition technology. With the glass back body, the devices might also support wireless charging. While the P20 is said to pack a 3,400mAh battery, the P20 Pro might offer a bigger 4,000mAh battery.

We also expect Huawei to offer ultra slow motion video recording feature with the P20 and P20 Pro smartphones. The Huawei P20 will be available in Black, Blue, and Gold color options. On the other hand. the Huawei P20 Pro comes in Black, Blue, and Twilight color options. Talking about the pricing, the Huawei P20 and P20 Pro might cost around EUR 680 (approx $840 / Rs. 54,500) and EUR 900 (approx $1100 / Rs. 72,000) respectively.

The Huawei P20 Lite will be the most affordable device among the lot priced at just EUR 369 (approx $450 / Rs. 29,500). We should be seeing more leaks about these upcoming Huawei smartphones in the coming days. Stay tuned on PhoneRadar for more details.
