Last month, the press renders of the upcoming Huawei P Smart Z are leaked online. From the images, we can confirm the device to sport notch-less display and a pop-up selfie camera. Recently, the Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 also got leaked with the same design with the two-tone glossy body and true bezel-less display. While the Huawei P Smart Z comes with a dual camera setup on the rear, the Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 sports triple rear cameras.
Now, the Huawei P Smart Z is listed on Amazon Italy revealing the complete specifications and its pricing. Instead of the gradient finish, the device comes with a two-tone finish and is available in three different color options – Black, Blue, and Green. It is priced at EUR 280 (approx USD 315 / INR 22,000) and is currently available for pre-orders. At this price, the Huawei P Smart Z is the most affordable full-screen smartphone in Europe.
The 3D curved glass body offers a nice grip to hold and also gives a premium look to the device. As seen earlier, the device sports complete bezel-less display on the front and a pop-up camera on the top. Considering its budget price tag, the bottom chin appears to relatively thicker. It sports a 6.59-inch Ultra FullView display with Full HD+ (2340 x 1080 pixels) resolution. Under the hood is the 12nm HiSilicon Kirin 710F octa-core processor coupled with Mali-G51 GPU.
The Kirin 710F offers the same performance as the Kirin 710 but comes in a different packaging process. It is coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. There is also a MicroSD card slot for further expanding the storage up to 512GB. Talking about the cameras, the Huawei P Smart Z sports 16MP primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture and a 2MP depth sensor. The Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 additionally comes with an 8MP ultra-wide-angle sensor on the rear.
For selfies, the pop-up camera on the top features a 16MP sensor with f/2.2 aperture. The camera comes loaded with advanced features like auto scene detection, portrait lighting, and more. It runs on Android 9.0 Pie out of the box with EMUI 9.0.1 skin on the top. While there is a rear-facing fingerprint scanner, the Huawei P Smart Z also supports face unlock using the pop-up camera. It is backed by a 4,000mAh non-removable battery that only supports s5V/2A (10W) power input.
It comes with a hybrid SIM card slot and supports dual VoLTE. Connectivity options include Cat.6 LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (2.4GHz & 5GHz), GPS, A-GPS, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, 3.5mm audio jack, and a MicroUSB 2.0 port.
