Last month, we have seen the leaked press renders of the Huawei P Smart Z. It is the first smartphone from Huawei to come with a pop-up selfie camera. While there is no official confirmation, the Huawei P Smart Z will reportedly make its debut in Europe in the coming weeks. A new Huawei smartphone called Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 is now spotted online with a similar looking design. Both the devices come in two-tone color and sports pop-up selfie camera and true bezel-less display.
While the newly leaked Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 sports triple camera setup on the rear, the Huawei P Smart Z only sports dual camera setup. It comes with a 6.59-inch display with no notch or bezels. The display offers Full HD+ (2340 × 1080 pixels) resolution and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The 91% screen-to-body ratio of the Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 is the highest we have ever seen on a Huawei smartphone. While the Honor Magic 2 also offered full bezel-less display using the slider mechanism, the Y9 Prime sports pop-up selfie camera.
Under the hood, the device comes powered by the 12nm HiSilicon Kirin 710 octa-core processor clocked at 2.2GHz. It comes coupled with Mali-G51 MP4 GPU to look after the graphical performance of the device. It runs on Android 9.0 Pie based EMUI 9.1 out of the box and supports latest GPU Turbo 3.0. Coming to the cameras, the Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 sports triple camera setup on the rear featuring a 16MP primary camera with f/1.8 aperture, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera with f/2.4 aperture, and a 2MP depth camera with f/2.4 aperture.
For selfies, the pop-up camera features a 16MP sensor with f/2.2 aperture. The device will be backed by a 4,000mAh non-removable battery and supports 5V/2A (10W) power input. It measures 163.5 x 77.3 x 8.8 mm and weighs 197 grams. While the leaks mentioned the device to come with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. We also expect the company to introduce at least one more storage option with 6GB of RAM. On the rear, the Y9 Prime 2019 also sports circular fingerprint scanner.
From the above image, we can see the power button and volume rocker on the right edge. It also comes with a curved back body which should offer a nice grip to hold. The device is also rumored to come with a USB Tyle-C port instead of the dated MicroUSB 2.0 port. As of now, there is no official confirmation over the specifications of the device. We need to wait for the device launch to get the pricing and availability details. Stay tuned on Phone Radar for more details about the upcoming Huawei smartphones!
