Gionne had earlier announced its partnership with Foxconn and Dixon Technologies to manufacture mobile phones in India as a part of their ‘Make in India’ campaign. Under the ‘Make in India’ campaign, there are many other many manufacturers who showed interest in manufacturing the devices in India. Xiaomi unveiled its first ‘Made in India’ smartphone i.e. the Redmi 2 Prime, that was manufactured in partnership with Foxconn in Andhra Pradesh.
On 12th of October, Gionee is also going to launch its first make in India smartphone in Vishakapatnam. The company came up with its own branded mobiles in the year 2013, even though there are many other manufacturers which sell the Gionee smartphone under their brand names like BLU, AllView, Himax, Walton and many others under their licensing.
Recently, Asus had also announced its make in India plans by manufacturing Zenfone 2 Laser and Zenfone Go at the same Sri City plant of Foxconn. Talking about the Gionee’s upcoming device, we expect the device to be launched is F303, the second smartphone from the all new Fashion series.
