Asus Zenfone Max M2 Starts receiving Android 9.0 Pie Update

Early this year, Asus has rolled out Google’s latest Android 9.0 Pie update to its budget mid-range smartphones that include the ZenFone Max Pro M1 and the Max Pro M2. The company had promised the timely Android updates to Zenfone Max smartphones ever since the launch. Late last year, Asus had launched ZenFone Max M2 and the Max Pro M2 smartphones in India, which were catered to budget to mid-range segment. As stated, while the latter had received the Android Pie update recently, the former i.e.., the ZenFone Max M2 has finally got the taste of Google’s latest Android Pie operating system.

The company has begun the Android 9.0 Pie update rollout to its ZenFone Max M2 smartphones starting today. And, the new update rolls out according to serial numbers by batches, henceforth ZenFone Max M2 users can expect OTA updates in the coming weeks. Users can further update manually by strictly following the firmware instructions as stated in here. Going by the release notes of the company, the new update to the ZenFone Max M2 brings the latest Android 9.0 Pie along with Google’s updated security of the month of May. Further, Google Mobile Services (GMS) are also likely to be upgraded to a 9.0_201903 version number.

The new Android Pie update to the ZenFone Max M2 brings all of its unique features including the Digital Wellbeing, Adaptive Battery, New Gesture navigations which are indeed intuitive, faster app loading times, and additional system stability and performance improvements and noticeable UI changes as well.

To recall, the Asus ZenFone Max M2 came with a 6.26-inch HD+ Notch display, and the device was powered by a Snapdragon 632 SoC, followed by 3/4GB RAM and 32/64GB of onboard storage with microSD expansion of up to 2TB. The Max M2 featured dual rear cameras comprising of the 13MP primary sensor along with the 2MP secondary sensor. Up front, the device featured 8MP selfie shooter.

The Asus ZenFone Max M2 shipped with Andoird Oreo out-of-the-box back then. The device was further kept alive by a decent 4000mAh battery as well. The ZenFone Max M2 is currently available for Rs 8,499 for the base variant and Rs 10,499 for 4GB+64GB variant. Stay tuned to PhoneRadar for more such interesting updates.
