Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 & Max M2 Get Android 9 Pie Update in India

A few weeks back Asus rolled out its Android 9 Pie Beta update to the Zenfone Max Pro M1 smartphone and now it has started rolling out the stable Android 9 Pie to the device along with Max M2 Pro in India. Recently Asus also promised that it will be rolling out the stable update to the Max Pro M2 smartphone by April 15th. The update is rolled out via OTA and it might take some time to reach your device depending on your region.

The update to the Max Pro M1 comes with the version v16.2017.1903.050 and weighs 1.55 GB in size. The users who are already on beta will be getting the update of 392MB size. Zenfone Max M2 will be updated to the version 16.2018.1903.37. Both the device will also get an update to the Google Mobile Services to the version 9.0_201903 and will also be getting Android security patch.

If you have not received the update yet and not able to wait for it, then you have an option to do it manually by heading to the settings of the device and click on the system update section. Now if the new firmware is available you need to download it before installation. Do make sure the device have enough battery before the installation starts. Coming to the device, the Zenfone Max Pro M2 is the successor of the Max Pro M1.

Zenfone Max Pro M1 was launched with 5.99-inch IPS LCD and came out of the box with Android 8.1 Oreo operating system. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 636, octavos-core processor along with 3/4/6 GB of RAM. There is a 13MP rear-facing camera along with a 5MP secondary sensor and on the front, there is an 8MP sensor. Did you receive the update?
