Last month, ASUS launched the Zenfone 6 smartphone in Europe for EUR 499. Earlier today, the company also launched its 2019 flagship smartphone in Taiwan. In India, the company has already announced the Zenfone 6 launch date as June 19th. A few days back, the company is restrained by the Delhi High Court from using the Zen or Zenfone branding for its products. However, the launch date is now removed from the Zenfone 6 listing on ASUS.com and it only shows the device as coming soon. Interestingly, the Flipkart listing of the device is now completely removed.
As of now, there is no confirmation from the company about the delay in the launch of the Zenfone 6 smartphone in India. The official statement from the company says their legal team is currently working with the Delhi High Court in India to resolve the Zen Mobiles and ZenFone trademark lawsuit. We hope the issue gets resolved as soon as possible so that the company can go ahead as per its original schedule. As per the leaks, the Zenfone 6 will be one of the most affordable Snapdragon 855-powered smartphones in the country.
The device comes with a 6.4-inch Full HD+ (2340 x 1080 pixels) with no notch or bezels. It uses the same dual camera setup on the rear even for capturing selfies using the flip mechanism. The Zenfone 6 comes with a 48MP primary sensor with f/1.79 aperture and 13MP ultra-wide-angle sensor with a 125-degree field-of-view. As said earlier, the device comes powered by Snapdragon 855 Mobile Platform and includes 6GB/8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB/256GB of UFS 2.1 flash storage.
It runs on Android 9.0 Pie out of the box with Zen UI skin on top. The Zenfone 6 is backed by a whopping 5,000mAh battery and support Qualcomm Quick Charge 4.0 fast charging technology. The device comes with a triple card slot where the user can add two SIM card and one MicroSD card at the same time. Instead of the in-display fingerprint scanner, the Zenfone 6 sticks with a rear-facing fingerprint scanner. It comes equipped with stereo speakers and includes 3.5mm audio jack.
