Last month, Redmi debuted the flagship smartphone segment by launching the Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro smartphones. Xiaomi confirmed to launch the Redmi K20 series in the Indian market in July. As rumors suggested, the Redmi K20 will be launched in Europe as Mi 9T. Xiaomi also scheduled the launch event for June 12th to officially launched Mi 9T smartphone. While we have already seen the leaked images of the Mi 9T, the first ever unboxing video went live on Youtube.
From the video, we can confirm the Mi 9T launching in Europe is indeed the same Redmi K20 launched in China. The unboxed Mi 9T is in Carbon Black color and comes with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Xiaomi is also providing a hard case instead of the transparent TPU case which looks cheap out of the box. The devices come with a 3D curved glass body and sports a 6.39-inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ (2340 x 1080 pixels) resolution and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. It runs on Android 9.0 Pie based MIUI 10 out of the box.
The Mi 9T comes powered by 8nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 Mobile Platform coupled with Kryo 470 CPU and Adreno 618 GPU. In the camera department, the device sports triple camera setup on the rear featuring a 48MP Sony IMX582 (not IMX586) with f/1.75 aperture, a 13MP ultra-wide-angle sensor with f/2.4 aperture, and an 8MP telephoto sensor with f/2.4 aperture. Since the front of the device is completely occupied by the display, the Mi 9T comes with a 20MP pop-up selfie camera on the top.
It is backed by a 4,000mAh non-removable battery and supports 18W fast charging. The device also comes with Hi-Res audio certification and sports a dedicated DAC for Hi-Fi audio output. In China, the company launched the Redmi K20 in Carbon Black, Flame Red, and Glacier Blue color options. It came in 6GB and 128GB storage variants and is priced at CNY 1999 and CNY 2099 respectively. Coming to the Redmi K20 Pro, it is rumored to be launched as POCO F2 in the coming months. Stay tuned on Phone Radar for more details!
