Xiaomi Mi Note Announced with 5.7-inch 1080p Display, 13MP Camera and 6.95mm thickness

Xiaomi, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer has had no better start to a year, as the Xiaomi Mi Note gets official, after the launch of Xiaomi Redmi 2 at the beginning of 2015. If LG G Flex 2 wasn’t enough to be called a huge upgrade from its predecessor, Xiaomi has taken a similar step by announcing the Mi Note with a list of humongous specs, making the Redmi Note series look seriously cheap.

While the screen size of 5.7-inch was quite expected, to take on the best of the phablets right now (Galaxy Note 4 to be precise), while it is a 1080p resolution JDI panel. The device has a 2.5D front glass and a 3D glass on the back. There is a dynamic contrast pixel adjustment technology, which is known to improve the contrast of darker areas in the picture, to make it look better. There’s Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, and the large display keeps the pixel density at 386PPI, not close to the best.

According to Xiaomi, the reading mode of Mi Note reduces the short wavelength blue light (which creates additional eye strain), thus reading becomes easier.

Internally, the Xiaomi Mi Note is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 and 3GB RAM. It’s Adreno 330 GPU for graphics support.

The device comes with a 13-megapixel camera with Optical Image Stabilization on the back, while on the front, there is a 4-megapixel selfie shooter with 2um pixel size. The camera app comes with low-light mode, and also a capturing mode which allows you to adjust the intesity of the LED flash. The rear camera has a philips 2-tone flash for natural brightening.

The Mi Note has a Hi-Fi audio system with ESS ES9018K2M audio decoder for the least distortion and lossless playback at 24-bit/192KHz.

There is a 3000 mAh battery included, and in terms of numbers, it is not tough against most of the top-end devices in the competition. There’s quick charge 2.0 technology included as well. The device looks excellent with the thickness of 6.95mm, and the wight is 161 gm.

The Mi Note is a Dual SIM one, with one Micro and one Nano SIM card slot, and there is Dual Standby. The pricing of Xiaomi Mi Note is set at 2299 yuans for 16GB and 2799 yuans for 64GB.
