Vivo, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer that is known for launching world’s slimmest smartphone ‘Vivo X5 Max‘ has listed a new mid-range smartphone ‘Vivo Y27L‘ on the company’s official website. It runs on the outdated Android 4.4 Kitkat based FunTouch 2.0 UI. The device features an alloy frame around the device and measures just 6.99mm thick.

Talking about the design, it sports a metal back cover that looks same as on the upcoming Gionee F303 smartphone. It comes with a 4.7-inch HD IPS display which makes the device uncomparable with other smartphones at this same price range. Under the hood, is the 64-bit Snapdragon 410 processor clocked at 1.2GHz, and coupled with Adreno 306 GPU and 1GB of RAM.

It comes with 16GB of internal storage and can be further expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card. Like the earlier Vivo smartphones, the Y27L is also expected to provide good sound experience with the AK4375 Hi-Fi Chip. The device supports dual SIM dual standby and offers 4G LTE connectivity.

On the camera front, it has an 8MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front-facing camera. It also includes face beauty modes along with panorama and Bokeh modes. The 2,260mAh battery  can last for a single day mixed usage. With all these hardware, the device measures just 136.9 x 68.1 x 6.99 mm and weighs 137 grams.

Connectivity on this device includes 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/A-GPS, and MicroUSB 2.0. As of now, the device is available in only White colors. The company has listed the device online, but the device was already available via offline stores for a price of Rs.12,999.

The device includes few unique software features like a long screenshot for capturing scrolled pages into a single screenshot. The screen recording also comes integrated into the OS. In the recent report of mobile shipments for Q2 2015, Vivo has been listed in the ninth place with 2% of global market share.

While the global brands like SONY and HTC are left behind, Lenovo also has 2% of share equalling Vivo. With the sale in only limited markets, Vivo has achieved this feat and it is also second fastest growing smartphone brand with a growth of over 400% compared with last year shipments.
