QiKu is a Chinese smartphone brand owned by Qihoo 360, maker of popular 360 security app. Today the company has officially debuted in the Indian market by launching QiKu Terra 808 smartphone. It has a fingerprint sensor placed on the rear of the device that can unlock the device in just 0.5 seconds.
The QiKu Terra 808 comes with the same 6-inch display with Full HD resolution and 2.5D Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Under the hood is the Snapdragon 808 hexa-core processor along with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of built-in storage. The device features an unibody design made out Magnesium Aluminum alloy called Magnalium and the matte finish on the back with a slight curve offering nice grip to hold the device.
The device offers 13MP dual rear cameras which the company is calling it has Duoscopic cameras includes a black and white sensor and the other is colored sensor. It can focus in just 0.1 seconds and also supports 4K Ultra HD video recording. On the front, we can find an 8MP selfie camera with wide-angle lens and FotoNation 4.0, it can capture some good photos. There is also a MicroSD card slot for storage expansion up to 128GB.
It runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop company’s custom 360 OS that gives root function for non-rooted device. The Android 6.0 Marshmallow update will be rolled out in March 2016. The pre-installed stock apps can also be uninstalled in this new 360 OS. The device is backed by a 3700mAh lithium-ion battery that also support Quick Charging with the provided 9v/2.2A flash turbo power adapter.
As of now there are more than 200 service centres spread across India. It is priced at Rs. 21,999 which will be available through open sale and when purchased through invite system, it costs only Rs. 19,999. It will be exclusively sold through Gadget360 website and the invites will be available starting from December 5th. Earlier to this, Xolo Era HD and Obi Worldphone SF1 are two devices that are exclusively sold through this new e-commerce site.
