XOLO Era HD with HD Display & 5MP Selfie Camera Launched at Rs. 4,777

XOLO, the Indian smartphone manufacturer, had recently launched the second smartphone ‘Black 1X‘ under its sub-brand Black. It is priced at Rs.9,999 and comes with some impressive specifications and today the company had launched a new entry-level smartphone ‘XOLO Era HD.’ It is the successor for Xolo Era that was launched earlier this year at Rs. 4,444. The new device is priced slightly higher at Rs.4,777 and comes in the Rocky Grey color.
The device comes with rounded edges and glass on the back which attracts a lot of fingerprints. It sports a 5-inch IPS display with HD resolution while many of the other smartphones under Rs. 5,000 price range comes with the qHD display. Under the hood is the Spreadtrum SC7731G quad-core processor along with 1GB of RAM.
It has an 8GB of internal storage along with an expandable option up to 32GB. The device is powered by the 2,500mAh battery that can give up to 10 hours of talk time and lasts up to 556 hours on standby. The USP of the device lies in its cameras; it has an 8MP rear camera with autofocus and LED flash. On the front, it has a 5MP selfie camera that no other device offers at the same price range.
The device misses the 4G LTE connectivity option but includes 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1, GPS/A-GPS and MicroUSB port. The dual SIM device runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop. At the same price range, there are few better alternatives like Lenovo A2010, Yu Yuniqueand few others that come with 4G LTE and a better processor.
If the rumors are to be believed, then Xiaomi will be launching the most affordable smartphone priced at just 399 Yuan which translates to Rs.4,150. Once launched the device will set new benchmarks to the other smartphone manufacturers for launching devices under Rs.5,000 price range. The Era HD will be exclusively sold through Gadget 360 store and the pre-orders for the device had already started.
