While the Huawei and Xiaomi are battling for the top position with Apple and Samsung, ZTE had never been close to this battle. That said, the company had launched some great smartphone with competitive pricing in 2015. The recently launched ZTE Axon Max came with powerful specifications and great build quality. Now, there is a new entry-level smartphone called ZTE Voyage 3 (Q529C) from the company that was launched last week in China. This is the successor for ZTE Voyage 2 (Q519T) that was officially launched earlier in May 2015.
It is priced at just 799 Yuan (approx $123 / Rs. 8,200) and offers better specifications that many other devices. The Voyage 3 offers a 5-inch IPS display with HD (1280×720) resolution and is powered by MediaTek MT6735 quad -core processor clocked at 1GHZ. It has 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage and a MicroSD card slot for storage expansion. The removable back cover comes with an unusual finish that offers nice grip to hold on to the device.
On the camera part, it has an 8MP rear camera with autofocus and LED flash, and a 5MP front camera with a built-in photo sensor for capturing better selfies. The device supports dual SIM dual standby where the first SIM supports 4G LTE connectivity. It is backed by a huge 4,080mAh battery that is rated to give six days of regular usage and will last up to 355 days on standby. This is the most affordable smartphone to offer such a massive battery.
It runs on the latest Android 5.1 Lollipop with customized UI laid on top of it. The device measures 8.4mm thick and weigh around 150 grams. Connectivity options on this device include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/A-GPS, and a MicroUSB 2.0 port. It also supports reverse charging option that can be used to charge other devices with an OTG cable.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 which is slightly priced higher at 899 Yuan (approx $132 Rs. 9,200) offers more superior specifications. It sports a fingerprint sensor for better security and comes with a full metal body. But the availability of the device matters more than the pricing since the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 will be sold through flash sales, the ZTE Voyage 3 can be purchased via online and offline stores.
