ZTE Axon Max 2 C2017 with 13MP Front & Rear Cameras Gets 3C Certified, to Launch Soon in China

ZTE had recently launched its latest flagship device Axon 7 (ZTE A2017) priced at $400. The device comes with a metal build Aluminum body and sports high-end hardware. The company also announced project CSX, where a new smartphone will be manufactured by crowdsourced suggestion. In between, the company will be launching new high-end device codenamed ZTE C2017. The C2017 is now certified by China Compulsory Certification (3C) which hints the official launch to happen soon. It will be the successor to ZTE Axon Max (C2016) which came with a 6-inch AMOLED display and might be called Axon Max 2.

The Geekbench listing revealed the ZTE C2017  to feature high-end specifications. It also sports a huge 6-inch display with Full HD resolution. Under the hood is the Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor clocked at 2.0GHz and coupled with Adreno 506 GPU. It also packs 4GB of RAM and 64GB on internal storage. There is no information about the MicroSD card slot for storage expansion. It runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with the ZTE’s MiFavor UI laid on top.

With the huge 6-inch display, the company wants to make it a camera-centric device. There is a 13MP camera on front and back of the device that can record videos at 4K resolution. The GFXbench listed the device to support only single SIM and offers 4G LTE for internet speeds. There will also be a dual-SIM variant for Asian countries. Connectivity options include 4G, Wi-Fi, NFC, Bluetooth, and GPS. We expect the device to come with USB Type-C port as seen on Axon Max & Axon 7.

Talking about the Axon 7, it came with a 5.5-inch AMOLED display with Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution. It is protected by 2.5D Gorilla Glass 4 on top which can resist scratches better the latest Gorilla Glass 5. It is powered by Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor along with Adreno 530 GPU and 4GB of RAM. It has 64GB of internal storage that can be further expanded upto 128GB via MicroSD card slot.

It came with a 20MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera. The device is kept powered on by a 3140mAh battery that supports Quick Charge 3.0 which can charge half the battery in 30 minutes. It also includes fingerprint sensor placed on the rear. At the Axon 7 launch event, the company launched its own VR headset as the device supports Google Daydream. The Android 7.0 Nougat which is now publically available to selected Nexus device will soon hit the Axon 7 as well.
