ZTE first teased about the Axon 10 Pro smartphone at the MWC 2019. The company recently confirmed to launch this new flagship smartphone on May 6th in China. It is even made available for pre-registration on Tmall and sales will begin from May 7th. Just like other flagship devices, the Axon 10 Pro 5G also comes with glossy finish body which will easily attract the fingerprints and smudges. This is also the company’s first flagship smartphone to launch after the US ban was lifted in July 2018.
The device comes with a large 6.47-inch AMOLED display with curved edges on either side and supports HDR10 playback. It offers Full HD+ (2340 x 1080 pixels) resolution and comes with 19.5:9 aspect ratio. With the waterdrop notch on the top, the display on this device should offer higher screen-to-body ratio. Talking about the performance, it sports the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Mobile Platform based on 7nm FinFET node. It comes coupled with Kryo 485 CPU and Adreno 640 GPU.
As of now, the company mentioned launching only the 6GB RAM variant with 128GB of internal storage. However, the device listing also revealed the 8GB + 256GB and 12GB + 256GB storage variants. It got a MicroSD card support for expanding the storage additionally up to 512GB. On the rear, the device sports triple camera setup featuring 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor with f/1.8 aperture and OIS along with a 20MP ultra-wide-angle sensor and an 8MP telephoto sensor.
Just like Huawei and Honor smartphones. we can also see vertical branding on the rear of the device. For selfies, the Axon 10 Pro 5G comes with a 20MP front-facing camera. Both the power button and volume rocker are placed on the right edge of the device. There is no 3.5mm audio jack on this device. For the 5G connectivity, it comes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon X50 modem which adds support for mmWave and sub 6GHz spectrums.
The ZTE Axon 10 Pro 5G is backed by a 4,000mAh non-removable battery and comes with 18W fast charging support. While the device also supports wireless charging, there is no mention of fast charging support. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, NFC, and USB Type-C port. Since there is no fingerprint scanner on the rear, we guess it to offer an in-display fingerprint scanner on the front.
It also comes with stereo speaker setup with Dolby Atmos support. ZTE also revealed the device to come with the F2FS file system which will be faster to read and write the files. The smartphone runs on the in-house MiFavor 9.0 based on Android 9.0 Pie. Till date, the company hasn’t revealed the pricing of Axon 10 Pro 5G. There is also no confirmation over the international availability of this device. Stay tuned on Phone Radar for more details!
